I was really disappointed in how quickly he went back to every day stuff like flying Rey to find Luke after Han died.
How do you know how much or little time passed between the time they landed at Resistance Base to leaving to go find Luke?

I could not pin-point a specific amount of time, but since it looked like celebrations for the victory over the SK base were still ongoing, and Finn was still in the hospital, I'd say it was a short period of time.

Possible, but not sure. Finn got taken down extremely hard. Everyone was out on the tarmac, sure... but the entire base knows about Rey now and how important a mission she was leaving to go on.
We also have to assume that Han told Leia everything about Rey, what Maz told him she saw in Rey, and everything that happened with the lightsaber at Maz's castle. So that could explain Leia's reaction to seeing her the first time. I did mention this before, that a nice pat on Chewy's back would have been nice
I also suspect the proper place for Chewy to grieve is in the co-pilot's seat of the Falcon.
This film is not intended to answer all of the questions. Fortunately 17 months is not very long to wait

Random question about Finn...what the heck happened to his blaster at Maz's place? He's wearing it in every scene, up until the fighting starts. Then he's talking to Maz and says "I need a weapon". That's when she points out the lightsaber. But, when and where did he put his gun down?!?!?
Sorry, that's been bugging me today

Hmm...that's a good question because he does have it later whenever they go to Starkiller Base.
I have a question too. Was Snap Wexley (Resistance pilot portrayed by that dude from "Heroes" and other things) the first chubby pilot to survive a battle in the Star Wars saga?

Unless it was literally a year or two, it doesn't chance my stance.

Though Finn brought a lot of physicality to Star Wars: The Force Awakens as the temporary holder of Luke's lightsaber, actor John Boyega has teased that his character will have an even greater physical presence in Episode VIII. The 23-year-old, English actor also stated that the next film will be darker. Said Boyega, "[The script is] great. Much darker, but we’re very excited... My part in the next film will be much more physical so I might be in the gym a bit more."
The Force Awakens didn't exactly illustrate that Finn was Force sensitive so it doesn't appear that he's walking the same path as Rey towards becoming a Jedi. As the conflict with the First Order and the Knights of Ren continues to play out in Episode VIII, what role do you think Finn will play?

"More physical."
Should I read that as Finn running around more, or that Finn will have to wield a lightsaber?

I hope all the teasers for VIII are of him panting out of breath like TFA

How does a chick, who had no idea she had force powers, defeat a guy who stopped a blaster round in mid-air?

Ren didn't want to beat her. Although he was a little jealous/frightened by Rey he wanted to convince her to train with him.

Can we unpin these threads now?

They elude to her having hidden abilities. The whole dream sequence seems to indicate that she has a connection to Luke, and likely the force. Also, Ren was injured prior to their fight.

^^^
Luke's daughter is going to have unbelievable powers in the force plus she may have been trained at a young age. Her flashbacks seem as though someone dropped her off and left in a hurry. They hid her for a reason.

why is this such a big deal to people? It's a movie meant to entertain
Luke was having his arse handed to him by a robot drone in Ep IV and had to go through extensive training with Yoda (and himself) to reach his full potential.

Are you suggesting that Rey has no prior training? They made it pretty obvious that she had, and was beginning to tap into something long forgotten or even blocked from her memory.
You're right, it would be pretty ludicrous for her to just instantly be able to tap into the force.
This movie created as many questions as it answered, and you'll just have to accept that after Ep VII we only know a tiny piece of Rey's story.

I liked it , bc it was star wars. But I had some issues.
Didnt get to see how New Republic was working and barely any Rebel soilders. How could First order be allowed to form. How could Rey and Finn possibly fight a trained Sith lord?
Didnt see enough alien races and economy/ politics. Also how does a normal family live life int he galaxy?
Coolest scene was Ren stopping that laser bolt
