All these threads have a lot of arguing books vs movies

Yea, I wish they would stick more to the movies, since that is what truly matters

We need an official fact thread to simply accumulate facts, set a timeline, and see if we can figure out the narrative.

Because I think JJ gave us enough hints to figure a fair amount out. We just haven't put them all together yet.

Books released after the Disney buyout are fair game. Books released prior to Disney purchasing Star Wars are no longer canon but shouldn't necessarily be ignored unless directly contradicted.

I can't believe anyone still thinks Rey is Han's daughter. Ren being his son was the big reveal this movie. They're NOT going to do the same thing in the next one. Neither Han nor Leia even acknowledged the existence of a daughter. There's 0% chance she's their daughter.

I'm very interested in how the producers handle Leia's arc moving forward. I'd like to see her start going crazy. Her father is one of the worst people in the universe and now so is her son. Her ex-husband was murdered by her son and her twin brother abandoned her for at least a decade. While I don't want to see her go to the dark-side, maybe Leia becomes an alcoholic. Who better to portray one than Carrie Fischer?

She's disgusting and sounds like she's been smoking for 50 years. If she's in E8 10
Minutes that's 10 minutes too much.

She still has those beautiful eyes, though...

*sigh*

pfft

She looked about 10 years older than she actually is, but I wouldn't say "disgusting" especially if you see pictures of her before she started preparing for the new film.

Rey is going to give birth to the new Snoke-Force baby style.

Does anyone know who else auditioned for Rey and Kylo? I know that Jesse Plemons and Michael B. Jordan tried out for Finn and Hugo Weaving auditioned for Hux.

Hugo Weaving would've been a much better General Hux. Hux is my only complaint from a casting standpoint.

How in the Hell did Weaving lose out to that guy?

He was laughably bad. He and Driver in the same scenes was really hard to watch.

Yea, I wasn't a fan of either of their castings. They just aren't very good. Driver was better with the helmet on, which is sad. The whole "you need a teacher!" line was just cringe worthy to hear.

Just a thought, but with the First Order rising from the ashes of The Empire, the players need to be young. Older leaders were either killed or moved on to other things. Or, I could be completely off base.

I get that, and it definitely seemed like that was what they were going for. I still think a better dynamic would have been Hux's character be an older generation with experience with Ren constantly trying to prove he is better than him. Could have been another layer to show his father/son issues.
