You're good
For most of that flashback scene, I felt like it was a history of that light saber from when we lost saw it. The corridor at the beginning looked just like the one in Cloud City where Vader & Luke fought. I really just need to watch that scene about 100 more times. The 3D version of it was awful, it was way too damn dark.

It's funny you say that. The flashback was supposed to be just that and how it came to maz but they changed it sometime during production

Didn't know that. I hope they explain that more, because I really want to know how she got it.
I do have a feeling the direction they end up going is that Rey is going to be a second "chosen one", somewhat operating under the same notion that the Matrix did that there are multiple chosen ones throughout time to balance the force. I hope they don't though.
Also, was Maz's bar supposed to be the old Yavin 4 temple? It looked very similar.

I don't think so since han says she had been there and for over 1000 years.
Agree with your take on Rey. I just hope they make kylo ren crazy evil and have him kill snoke in the next one making him the ultimate bad guy.

I think Anakin Skywalker will always be the only Chosen One. His legacy is now what brings balance to the Force.
Now you're seeing it play out with Rey (granddaughter probably) as the light and Ren (grandson) as the dark.

Maybe that guy was about to kill Rey and that is why ren stepped in.
I think this is correct. Looked like that guy was raising up a weapon to strike when Ren killed him from behind. I'm starting to think Kylo left her on Jakku.

true. Damn it looks similar though, especially to the one in the Jedi Outcast games. Not to mention it had the same Tower that the Corsucant temple had.
this one:
It was dead center, behind her statue

Yeah, I'm a big liar. Just finished rewatching and she didn't say father. I am shamed.

There was a lot that went on in that scene
I've seen it 4 times and still have no clue what all happens lol

The movie was definitely better a second time. Han's death was spoiled to me the night before the first viewing so I spent the whole time stressing if I was lied to or not.

what makes you think he is as strong as Plageuis?
Luke has now had 30 years of practice
You do know that Palgueis lost his ability for foresight, so that he could gain the ability to create life? It was a big part of episode III

"It's ironic. He could save others from death...but not himself."
That's why he needs boots on the ground to do his investigation, because he can no longer sense the future. He has convinced Kylo that he is now the chosen one, and needs to finish the work that Vader started, bring balance to the force.
When in reality he needs Ren to find his body, and eliminate his competition, so that he can regain his life. Because the Sith do not believe in an afterlife. That's why he wants to live forever

Okay? Yoda had like 800 years, but couldn't beat Sidious? That doesn't mean Luke is definitively as strong as a potential Plageuis.

Where did it say he lost his foresight. Did he ever have foresight? I mean true foresight? Not every Jedi/Sith possessed that gift. Was that in his book? That line about not being able to save himself from dying was because he couldn't use his powers if he was dead (in theory, the new movies may change that). Not to mention that Palpatine had shown an ability to cloud even Yoda's foresight, so he very easily could have with Plageuis.

Why did Palpatine need boots on the ground then? Why did any Master need boots on the ground then? If Ren needs to find his body, how can they bring Rey to him? How do they know where his location is? How is he a tangible figure in the universe if he is just a spirit? Why does he need a body if he is now a spirit in the afterlife that he didn't believe in?

uh, you might want to rewatch Palpatines speech to Anakin about Plagueis
quote:
The only thing he was afraid of was losing his power. Which he did.
Once Sidious realized Plagueis could no longer sense future events, he used that opportunity to kill him. Otherwise, he would have never attempted it
quote:

That's why Sidious never sought the power to create life, he saw what it did to Plagueis.

I have. He mentions nothing about foresight. If this is in the books, then that is a different story, but it isn't in the movie.

Okay, again is this in a book because it is not in the movies.

cool.

Kylo has 0 self control. He would have freaked the frick out if it was the same girl he left.
When it was mentioned to him that a girl was involved he did respond with "what girl ?!" In a manner he knew it could be her.

When he killed his master he lost his foresight ability.

Maybe he's not a spirit. Maybe he took another body. He did a lot of research using the Force to create life and project/transfer. Perhaps when he "died" he recreated himself as Snoke.

Just don't buy snoke is plagius
Posted on 12/29/15 at 12:52 pm to Rhames
He's probably not... but as of right now it seems like the most plausible scenario.
Where else would a Sith Lord come from in the years prior to Vader and Palpatine's deaths? Unless maybe Palpatine or Vader had a secret apprentice that elevated to master upon their deaths?

Okay so this was in a book, not the movie like was being claimed?

That's a good thought. Hadn't crossed my mind. Though that will destroy the arguments of him looking like Plageuis.
