I can see Luke being Rey's Jedi trainer, but do you think Rey will be tempted by the dark side at some point like Luke was?
I know Kylo offered to train her, but there will be a much deeper and more complex temptation at some point.

No. They dont. They don't need to turn this into a Friday the 13th franchise.

Oh most definitely. Remember, the dark side is the easy way to power. Lead to by fear and anger. Her abilities miraculously came alive, and to dizzying heights almost instantly, when she was the most fearful, and the angriest.

I don't think she turns to the dark side.
She saw what it did to Hans and his son.

I didn't say I thought she did. But that she would be tempted, and that her introduction to using the Force is under even worse conditions than Vader or Luke.

I was blown away by Daisey Ridley.
I sort of liked her when she found BB-8, really liked her when she took the blaster from Han, and by the time Ren was trying to mind-rape her (seriously, it looked like he was trying to stick his dick in her below camera view which I think Abrams did intentionally) I was almost crying when she turned the tables on him.
She felt the fear and shoved it up his own arse.
And I realize that it was the character of Rey that did all of these things, but Ridley made me think of her as Rey and you don't get much higher compliment from me. For me to think of you as the same person as that character in less than the length of a feature film...you pulled the job off.

Would love(truly hate, but it has to happen sometime) to see Luke die, but Kylo switch to the light
I will be severely disappointed if Luke doesn't make it to Episode IX.
Unlike Han, Luke's character has a ton of unexplored potential.

fricking nailed it dude.
She had a few rough moments on occasion, but now that you put it the way you did, her real name never even entered my mind. There is no Ridley, just Rey.
Whereas Boyega definitely had some moments where I said, "what is Boyega doing right now?". Same with Carrie Fisher, and even Ford early on.
Start to finish, Driver had the strongest performance, but Ridley was not far behind. I freaking love the character. Even if she is a tad too good at everything she does.
Anybody else think Chewie's best moment in the entire franchise was right after Han's death? His reaction sold that entire scene, both verbally and physically . I've never heard such rage, sadness, and loss from a non-human character. His bellow made you feel exactly as he was in that moment.

I think it was Ridley then Driver, but I think it depends highly on who's story arc you are more interested in.
Both were great.
As far as Chewie, I knew what was coming so Chewies response didn't have as much of an effect on me. That scene did solidify Ren's spot as a complete a-hole though.
Get this: as Han walks out onto that catwalk and we are about to see a father beg his son to come home, some douche's cell phone rings. I've never been so mad, but I didn't say anything because it would have taken more away from the movie.

I would've been pissed too. I'm sure he was pretty ticked at himself as well. I forgot to turn mine down until the post trailers reminder.

I can see it both ways, Ridley just had more shaky moments. When balanced with screen time, it makes sense.
Driver's worst scene was on the bridge with Han. However, I think part of it is how jarring the difference is between Kylo Helmet and Kylo sans helmet. His voice outside of the helmet was somewhat, distracting I guess, compared to in the helmet.
That scene by Driver was still better than any acting in the prequels outside of McGregor. Problem was, he was standing opposite of Harrison Ford, who gave us perhaps his best Han in his last scene. Driver drew me out of the scene compared to what Ford had done to draw me in.
Ford was fantastic there, imo. I can't say it enough. We all knew what would happen when he stepped out, I think Han the character did too. Yet Ford still made us feel Han's love, his loss, his determination, his death, and most importantly his forgiveness.
I would argue the same of Chewie. We both knew what it would be. But for me, that didn't detract. Though it helped that his reaction was played better than I thought it would be.
Regardless, Rey and Driver are the key stones moving forward. When you look at what they showed us, I couldn't be happier.
2 years is much, much too far away.
If no one spots it...

I rember thinking,"OK, they SAID Han and this guy were father and son, but how will this interaction go?"
You know what, both guys did outstanding jobs. So much so that I actually thought I saw some back and forth in Ren. I want to see it again so I can if it's driver's acting I'm impressed with or Kylo Ren's acting. I mean I really thought I was looking at a boy and his father. On top of that I had this internal love for Han so I can't come to believe Kylo Ten didn't have to question himself even a little before offing one of the best dudes in the galaxy.

I L-O-V-E how totally different Driver is with his mask on and off. Perfect actor to use a mask because he just looks like a kid with it off. Great casting.

I think it was Driver's, and Ren's. I agree he played it well, but he was standing across from a legend.
I felt the love he once had for his father, I felt the struggle. But I think the dialogue was off. I can't tell if it was the writing or his delivery, and if it was the delivery is it because of the difference in tone without the helmet.
Because his facial expressions nailed it.
They took their time with that scene, they knew they had to nail Han's death. I wonder how many takes, and how many lines were tried to reach that final take.

Yea. Could not have done it with the helmet on

I saw TFA on opening night at Perkins Rowe (imax was sold out at the times we wanted to go). I plan on going back and see it in IMAX BY MYSELF WITHOUT MY WIFE ASKING ME A MILLION QUESTIONS DURING THE MOVIE....end rant.
But where does Han Solos death rank in movie character deaths? I say pretty damn high.

It has to be up there. How many other characters have been as iconic as him for this long, and bit the dust?
My wife said she would go with me, but I knew she would probably hate it, so I declined her offer.

I am sure it have been discussed, but why did Rey hug Leia at all? She has no knowledge that Han and Leia were a thing and had never met her up to that point had she?
Rey may not have met Leia until then, but as she said, "I've heard stories". She knew Han Solo's story, not just as a Rebel general, but as a smuggler. She just stared at him in reverence when they met, like he was some sort of larger than life figure. I'm sure she would know his history with Leia, and know who Leia was too.
Look at it this way, let's say you have a weird event and spontaneously meet Brad Pitt, and he offers to take you in his crew. Let's say you get kidnapped, and Pitt comes and rescues you, and then dies as he goes back for some unfinished business. You then go back, and Angelina Jolie is waiting as you get out of the car, looking at you and apparently knowing Brad gave his life to save you. Do you not go up to her, to say thanks and sorry etc?

That, and there is an obviously matronly figure who has a concerned, caring look on her face walking up to me from who I know are the good guys. I think I would take the hug too.
Different note completely. I may have not looked back far enough, but has no one mentioned the fact that R2 wakes up almost immediately upon Rey's return. When her force powers would be in range.
When combined with everything else, can we put the "Is Rey Luke's daughter?" questions to rest now?
I'm also going to go out on a limb and say that Luke is completely over powered, when compared to the OT and Prequels. To place a Droid into low power mode for over a decade but with a "wake when you feel X" command, and to force wipe a child's memory to the point that Ren couldn't find a hint of her lineage when he saw her memories as a child, would take some pretty serious skills.
