I'm hoping that she isn't Luke's daughter.

Sure, that would make sense for her being so strong in the force but that just feels too conventional to me.

I think it would be much cooler if it was something along the lines of the force "choosing her" to restore balance.

But based on the visions she had and the vague referrence to her unkown parents it probably will end up with Luke being her father.

Ok....Luke is a JEDI. JEDI are forbidden to take a mate. So, Rey is not/cannot be Luke's daughter.

That's stretching quite a bit. I think she'd British for the same reason everyone in Game of Thrones sounds British. It just sounds better for epic fantasy stories.

It also sounded better as Germans in WWII movies in the 60's and 70's. I actually believed Germans spoke German(English) with a British accent when I was a kid. LOL

Then Luke and Leia wouldn't exist.

I'd rather that than be Ren's sister. They already almost just remade ANH, if they add that similarity, I may lose it.

To your point about the force choosing her to "balance the force"

Just arbitrarily choosing a new "chosen one" is even more unimaginative. Would be awful.

Rey was raised by the junk dealer with the British accent. That's why she has it.

Read the comments, someone says that Ren actually says something else.

So because a Padawan learner of the force decided to break this sacred rule, you are telling me that Luke.....the last fully trained and acknowledged Jedi will throw this sacred tenant out the window?

Flawed logic. That's like saying, yes murder is illegal but since one's father was a murderer then surely he is one as well

Luke was far from fully trained.

Hey, you made the terrible argument. It is flawed from the beginning. Luke would never exist if Jedi can't/couldn't have kids.

Then add in the fact that Luke, trying to restart the Jedi temple, might see the importance of passing on his force sensitive genes, actually does have a kid in the canon, and in no point of his training is it shown that tenant of the Jedi code was still followed.

I watched the video from the link. In the game it sounds like he's saying cousin except there's an s on the end. Some people claim he's saying "curses".

If Luke is the last Jedi who taught him this? Obi-Wan's force ghost?

It was curses. I believe someone put the subtitles on to find out.

I'm pretty sure I would hate her being a Kenobi. Obi Wan couldn't have had a kid. It would have to be his son's child for it to even be plausible. If Obi Wan did have a kid, he or she would have been Luke's age 30 years ago in ANH.

If she isn't Luke's daughter or Leia's then she's a new character bloodline. But I'm 95% sure she's Luke's daughter. But then again, JJ said he left questions unanswered in his film and set certain things up for Rian Johnson. So it's ultimately up to him now.

It's also funny to hear the EU people bitch about TFA and Rey being Luke's daughter when have the fricking books in the EU are about the offspring of Leia and Luke.

I sure hope so, cuz the alternative quote (even if accurate) is frigging leg of lame with weak sauce.

Kylo wouldn't say anything so corny.

Do we agree that Han Solo knew who Rey is?

IMO, it was painfully obvious he figured out/ recognized who she was soon after finding them in the Falcon.

The wise bartender Maz knew Solo knew, too.

They definitely hinted at it. I think there were at least three occasions Han was asked about the girl, then it immediately cut away.
