Who the hell wanted this?

Certainly not the female who Sheev climbed into bed with, can you imagine that burnt to a crisp dong goin in dry? Or maybe he immaculately placed his seed in an unknowing woman.

Kathleen Kennedy.

I'm laying this all on her. It was her decision not to sit down with the producers and plan out an overarching story for all three films. Her only stipulation to the filmmakers was "muh diversity."

The Force Awakens introduced a lot of interesting plot threads. It's a shame no one had the first clue with what to do with them.

Kathleen Kennedy and Chinese audiences.

American audiences are going to have to realize they're 2nd fiddle to Chinese audiences these days.

Why do you think theres so many remakes? Because it's new to China.

That's my biggest problem with the stumbling mess that's this "trilogy." The first one kept telling the audience that it wasn't the original SW, although clearly it was. The second was just a "woke" and "subverting" mess that it was unwatchable.

Someone (JJ Abrams) needed to sit down and say "Okay, this is where this 3 movie arc needs to wind up."

This movie is going to be an absolute disjointed mess but I am going to get a chuckle out of the whole series really being a story of the Palpatine Family.

Not only replacing the Skywalkers as most powerful Force users in history but the ones who will have left a permanent influence on their galaxy after a Palpatine fulfills the ancient Jedi prophecy.

Someone did. JJ had scripts for it that Johnson scrapped them. Scripts that may have had inspiration/collaboaration with Lawrence Kasdan who wrote TFA and ESB. Even before that, Lucas had a vision of where a sequel trilogy could go.

I’m trying to decide which part of the leaks are more dumb, rey’s magical healing powers or the real world intervention from force ghosts.

If that were true I don't think it's ever been officially acknowledged. I remember reading an article a couple of months after the release of The Force Awakens where Abrams stated there was no grand plan for the trilogy. I also remember scoffing at this and not 100% believing it. However, after what happened with The Last Jedi, it's fairly evident that what Abrams said back in 2016 was true.

Neither. It's Palpatine survived a 1000 story fall and an explosion.

I feel like when they’re writing the story, they say “ok, we need to get this character to this location, but there’s no logical way it happens, how can we explain that away using the force?”

And somehow ending up with the wreckage on a totally different planet.

Lazy Writing. Let's just explain it away by saying he was powerful in the force.

Two explosions actually. The one when he gets to the bottom of that gif, then the actual explosion of the death star. Then, you know, he is trapped in space with a potential fall into Endor's moon and that would probably suck.

I love Palpatine, he is one of my absolute favorite characters in all of Star Wars. Bringing him back is one of the single worst things that has ever happened to Star Wars, and I realize how heavy of a statement that is. It ruins so much.

With their insistence on using force ghost, i'm almost positive what is going to happen, is that they are going to say he found a way to transfer his force ghost into an actual body or something. That way it will make sense that Luke can fight in the real world with his force ghost.

It is all going to be so stupid.

It completely ruins Anakin Skywalker's arc for one. And that arc, when episodes 1-6 are grouped together, is the central thread of the PT/OT. Palpatine being alive makes no sense thematically. It's obvious he was shoehorned in as part of a desperate Hail Mary to save the trilogy.

I don't think it was scripts but more a rough outline of where the story could go. Then Rian came in and threw it out the window and said "I got better ideas bitches" and then laughed maniacally.

Woah.

You're forgetting this moment from The Last Jedi:

The kid used the Force to move his broom 3 inches to his hand. Now, it's no Rey level power, but it's impressive.

So, we get a Mary Sue and the men are left to use to force to help with the house work. Girl Power!
