No spoilers but I really liked it as well. It reminded me of some of the Temporal War episodes of Enterprise, and most other Trek shows dealing with time travel. I thought it was done very well, and the La’an/Kirk chemistry was spot on. They play well off of each other.

I am still not sure how they came out of the gate with first episode, but things have picked up considerably.

I already had Paramount+ with Showtime and it’s not coming up on Paramount+ for me, I can find it from the Amazon home page which tells me to subscribe to something I’m already paying for.

I have Paramount+ through Amazon as well, and the episode was in my ‘Continue Watching’ section.

I just got it up, but episode 3 only gave me the free trial option, when we already pay for Paramount+ plus Showtime. I clicked that and it worked, I’m pretty sure this will end up with customer service.

It’s not showing up on any of my Paramount+ apps.

I had to click on the free trial option, even though we already pay for it.

I get my Paramount plus through Amazon Prime. Maybe that has something to do with it.

As Jeff Goldblum would say, “ah, now eventually you do plan to have strange new worlds on your Strange New Worlds show, right?” We’re already a third of the way through the season, and we’ve seen a generic “Wild West” border town, a Federation court room, and modern day Toronto.

In TOS, we saw Wild West Tombstone, Modern day New York and a Federation Courtroom. Is there a point or do you just want to fuss?

Yep, my favorite episodes. Especially, Enterprise.

I went to rewatch it and they have made it ‘unavailable’. I assume they will add it back on the regular schedule.

I think something happened yesterday when the official merge happened, which led to some people, depending how the are subscribed being able to watch the 3rd episode. This board, like usual was on top of the episode that was probably released early by mistake.

3rd episode was awesome.

I wasn't sold on the new Kirk but I really liked him in this episode Didn't care for La’an either but enjoyed her this episode.

I thought they did a good job with that.

My main takeaway is that they’re planning on this show lasting a while and not just being a one or two season and disappear thing like we see with a frick ton of streaming shows.

That explains why every episode doesn’t have to push the overall story forward like with Picard season 3.

I enjoyed this episode too. It was a really good, classic Star Trek episode that confronted a moral quandary - would you kill kid Hitler if given a chance? It would obviously save millions of lives but 1) at this point he is just a kid and 2) his death would prevent a terrible but necessary step in human development - in this case making Earth/The Federation a utopia that needed the Eugenics Wars to develop.

Also, I was always a big fan of the Romulans and this episode had their MO down pat - they are a significant and dangerous military power in the traditional sense but would prefer to weaken their enemy via subterfuge and deception if possible.

I am still not completely sold on new Kirk, but I did like this episode’s version of him. I think it was because he had an excuse to not be as much like Kirk. I don’t think it can carry over to regular timeline without changing Kirk being Kirk.

I was already sold on La’an (liked actress in limited appearances on Line of Duty, Dr Who, and some others before this show) and liked her in this episode up until the crying at the end. That crying face and the crying was kind of bad. I thought she was a better #1 than #1 and would be a better #1 full time on the show, but that crying makes think maybe it’s time for Spock.

Episode was good. It would be better if something from episode actually ends up carrying over into other storylines this season (outside of changing Kirk). Did the engineer lady acknowledge in someway seeing her in the past?

I am kind of tired of time travel in Star Trek and hope that’s it for this season.

There's apparently an episode this season where Mariner and Boimler from Lower Decks show up, so there's at least one more time travel episode.

Ok. That might be different, and it looks like it will be good. I just saw pictures of them.

I probably should have specified being tired of the time travel ones where at beginning of episode current timeline changes to some dystopian version of the present, and then some characters time travel back in time to get regular timeline back with the actions of the time traveling characters not effecting anything in fixed current timeline or effecting very little with no real impact on season or series.

I agree. Just watched the episode last night and it was awesome. A
Classic Trek as you described. I didn’t feel like they abused the “Kirk from a different timeline” plot device.

Last two episodes of the season have been a huge turnaround from the first, and gotten this show back as the best new ST property on years.
