I know a lot of it depends on the type of movie you like but based on M. Knight I'm split on his movies, honestly no pun intended. Any comps or advice on whether I should commit the 2 hours?

After watching split, I'll watch whatever movies McAvoy does just because he's in them

If you liked Unbreakable then you will like this one too. They are both slow builders leading to a solid ending.

The last 25min of the movie gave me chills and goosebumps the 1st time I watched it. Then I watched it again late at night before bed and again chills and goosebumps. Good movie.

Yep, and not because it's a great film. but because it sets up a movie that could be his best yet.

What irks me about MNight pictures is his directing otherwise solid actors into purposefully flat, monotone roles.

This flick is Bizarro Shyamalan, with McAvoy delivering a radically dynamic performance that any director could be proud of.

One of his best for sure. Worth it just to for his performance. It was better than I expected. In Atonement and Filth he shows more depth, better performances IMO but he's still great.

It’s pretty good. Not earth shattering, and night played it pretty safe. He knew if he put out another weird stinker he was done.

You have your typical night-isms where the characters do stupid or inexplicable things just to advance the plot.

Such a good movie. It’s like one of those accidental masterpieces, i dont like Mcavoy but he’s brilliant in this, the story is layered and thoughtful, it’s intense and thrilling and there’s something about Anya Taylor Joy that glues your eyes to the screen. She’s not only hot but she can express any emotion without saying a word. Even the score is perfect.

It's pretty close to being "great" to me, for all the reasons that Madking mentioned. And that's coming from someone who generally hates M Night. He did a good job and Mcavoy was fantastic.
