I enjoyed it, but it’s not without flaws or wooden performances.

AV ranked it as 6th out of the 9 spidey films produced
edit: which I strongly disagree with. I think it's inaccurate to include Spider-Verse in the ranking since it is animated, but I think NWH & Spiderverse are 1a/1b

I cant catch up on 15 pages...
Was the movie comparable to the comics?
I kind of dont like that "bad guys can be cured". If it is that easy to defeat a bad guy (shoot a vaccine into their body), then what is the point of comic books the past 80 years fighting bad guys? Why fight any villain? Give them a shot and save the community from years worth of carnage.
It sounds like a lazy ending (like superman flying around the world to reverse time). And the timing of a "vaccine cure" for bad guys couldnt be worse for me.

You mean all of the numerous times that plenty of bad guys change sides or at the very least become anti-heroes?
Including Norman Osborne, Magneto, Venom, Thanos, Dr. Doom, Emma Frost, Loki, Luthor, Captain Cold, Deathstroke, and on and on and on

Spider verse has to be one of my most overrated movie’s on this board. It’s a solid-good animated movie but nothing outstanding.

I never read the comic books. Im aware that villains (and superheroes) have origin stories.
You are answering in part my first question.
It isnt lazy writing to close up a storyline with "take a shot" and live happily ever after? Is that consistent with the comic books? As i alluded to, it is consistent with "go back in time and save the day" in my opinion. It is like a stephen king novel lazy.

I don't think it's that simple.

It came off as very Kindergarten classroom to me. Very Disney (is another way to put it). "Villains arent villains. They are misunderstood. And if they take their medicine, it is sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows."

Guess it wasn’t woke enough for them. My ranking:
1) No Way Home
2) Into the Spiderverse
3) Spider-Man 2
4) Homecoming
5) Spider-Man
6) Far from Home
7) The Amazing Spider-Man
8) Spider-Man 3
9) The Amazing Spider-Man 2

I mean is it lazy in that you want to compare Dostoevsky to Comic books? Sure it's a bit more lazy than profound Russian literature.
Is it lazy compared to the comic books? No. This kind of stuff happens all of the time, in all directions mostly to keep things interesting. If you've watched the Spider-Man movies, it's actually fairly consistent:
1. Green Golbin - Was legitimately a dual personality character (and has been in the comics). And became the only real villain in this film.
2. Doc Ock - Was being controlled by sentient machines.
3. Sandman - Was never really a villain in Spider-Man 3
4. Lizard - Also more of a classic "I will make people better" villain.
5. Electro - Was a villain, with more classic villain motives
Raimi's Spider-Man series was built on "not completely a villain" villains, while Amazing Spider-Man didn't really have time to get going.
The only true villain change in this one were probably Electro and Lizard, Electro being maybe the only "convenient" ending.
These are not all close to their comic book counterparts, but were consistent with the world-building from the previous series.

Spider-Verse shouldn’t be included.
Homecoming is the 1 far and away.
NWH had some clunky dialogue like Foxx hoping for a black Spider-Man out there.
Tobey isn’t a good actor either.
Garfield was great.
But all in all, NWH in my rankings is probably higher than FFH

JJJ was the real villain.

If Otto was transported to the MCU main universe right before his death, he would’ve already been freed from the sentient machine.
So the timing was off.
Sandman was a good guy so I don’t understand that either.
They should’ve brought Harry from ASM 2.

This is a damn appropriate list IMO

Everyone can find something to be angry about if they look hard enough.

I can agree with this ranking.
Also makes me glad Garfield got his chance to redeem his Spider-Man

I honestly thought the thing after the "Fix the Villain" Battle was going to be Defoe-Norman returning with the Harry's (Franco and DeHaan)for a 3v3 Spider-Man vs. Green Goblin Final Final Battle.

Im not a comicon guy.
I understand the villain arcs.
I am probably just used to the scarecrow getting placed in arkham or the joker getting away or vulture getting arrested. or as the movie alluded... doc oc, green goblin, Lizard, and mysterio being killed while fighting spiderman.
Maybe the fact that every peter parker is better than dr fauci with 5 vaccines in a days work that cures 5 very different types of villains is where i am struggling in a world with Dr Strange and the multiverse. That is too much for me to enjoy 2 years in on a pandemic born in 2019.

Homecoming is a top 5 MCU movie for me, NWH is much better IMO and I fricking love Homecoming.

Idk how this was clunky dialogue, it was a good Miles Morales reference and it allowed Garfield even more time to shine with his reply "Ooooh I'm sorry"

Completely disagree. He brought a very tame and calming older presence as Spider-Man. Very mature and grown up. I loved his role and him stopping Goblin from getting impaled by his own Glider again.

Yes

It's not probably higher, it's lightyears higher and I love FFH as well.
I think your criticisms have zero merit
