Good theory. I'd imagine with Kang's meddling Strange's view of time is incomplete, when he used the time stone he saw a straight, pruned line. Itd be good for the character if this time he just "didn't know"

I'm convinced more and more that Dr Strange isn't in this trailer. I think we are getting an interpretation of the One More Day comic.
