I must have missed the naked Paramount with talking micropenis.

They ripped on Trump sure but they also tried to piss off Paramount by ripping Trump so hard he'd try to hold the merger with Skydance which is what a lot say was what happened with Trump suing CBS. FCC was holding up the merger due in part to the lawsuit, CBS settles and agrees to give Trump air time as well. T
Then Colbert calls out Paramount and next week he gets fired with a flimsy excuse given that CBS had inked a deal through 2026 and he was the highest rated night show host. Basically Matt and Trey tried to bait Trump into fricking over Paramount, that doesn't seem to have happen but they did get a pretty weak arse response from the administration so it worked somewhat

Because Joe is legitimately boring as frick. His whole legacy as a President is emblematic of the octogenarian career politicians who refuse to let go of power. He had 4 years to stem the tide of bullshite we’re now swept up in and he and his party all but sat on their hands. There’s nothing interesting there to lampoon. He didn’t DO anything and that’s the problem. The only people who find Hunter remotely interesting are MAGA and the right wing. He’s a drug addled trust fund baby. That’s not all that noteworthy, they exist in droves
Trump is also the only president that is a public figure outside of politics.
Love him or hate him, he is a character with very high “brand recognition” that spans decades in America.
This type of character is more in the wheelhouse of what South Park likes to make fun of more so than critiquing standard politicians.
SNL and the late night daily talk shows that have always been more politically oriented should be taken more to task for not going after Biden, South Park for most of its run haven’t spent much time in this lane.

I think those are all fair points. I also don’t think anyone is saying they should have made fun of Trump and Biden equally. I do think it’s a pretty valid criticism that they just pretty much punted on any criticism of Biden for the entirety of his presidency. Yes they were less active, which is convenient, but there was plenty of really good material to make some type of joke during something for the entirety of his presidency. I mean do we really think they couldn’t make a funny joke around a dementia incapacitated president and his crackhead son who was trying to to sell access to his dad?

There is no point. He was fired because he wasn't funny on a comedy late night show and because ratings were bad and they will losing 40 plus million a year. He should have been let go way before this.

And yet he was still signed to that deal, funny how this firing happened right after he made those comments. Weird timing and totally just a coincidence that Trump decided to post how happy he was that the big mean late night host was fired.

he was so bad he was losing them 40 million a year and he shite on OG's like Carson and Letterman and Leno. He should be embarrassed for ruining late night TV.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Apparently all the clips in the trailer they released a few months ago (Butters as air traffic control, Diddy in space) were created just for the trailer and are not from completed episodes.

This is such an insane conspiracy lol. You think it’s strange that Trump dunked on a talk show host getting fired that melts about him nightly? That’s typical Trump behavior. How long should Paramount carry a show that loses millions every year?

I think the decision was made long before that his contract wouldn't be renewed. They did pick a weird time to announce it though.
All late night shows may be getting canceled or reconfigured. A report from Adweek indicates a drop from $439 million in 2018 to $221 million in 2023, a 50% decline. This decline is attributed to several factors, including changing viewer habits and the rise of streaming services and social media.
I also dont really trust the "losing $40 million" number.
Would need to see how they calculated it.
