I just left the theater and this movie had me emotional from the first scene.
This has got to be the most important movie that has been made in a long time.
Definitely worth a trip to the theater and absolutely worth your money.
Powerful movie.
I can’t believe it actually made it to the theaters.
Blowing the lid off child sex trafficking
Trailer

It’s a Tearjerker.
Downvotes are clearly pedos

Ali Landry (Miss Louisiana/Miss USA 1996)makes a small appearance as a nurse.

Mrs M heartily agreed and says they’re heartless as well.

We saw it earlier today and I posted a comment on another thread a few minutes ago that I realize should have gone here. With your patience and hopefully your permission I’ll add it here where it should’ve been in the first place.

No spoilers.

Saw the new Caviezel movie, Sound Of Freedom, today with Mrs M.

Writing, cinematography, and score are all excellent. The acting was solid and compelling all around. Small supporting roles combined admirably to help flesh out the story and add an additional layer of depth to the main characters.

Because he’s not in very many films, I’d forgotten what a fine actor Caviezel is. There’s also a very nice brief, but necessary role, for Mira Scorvino. She played a similar role as Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain’s wife in Gods And Generals.

It’s not a film that can be easily labeled. Conservative, liberal, or religious hardly apply. [Full disclosure-I am a conservative Christian. I feared, and partly expected a rather cheesy pablum “Christian” film perhaps carried by a known star and the controversial subject matter. I was totally wrong. I am still rather shocked at how good it is. Like I say Full disclosure.]

The film is often uplifting, harrowing at times, and heartbreaking in others. It’s strong subject matter so be forewarned. Bring wives and appropriately aged children with caution. Be circumspect.

With those caveats, I heartily recommend it without reservation.

Watched it tonight. It’s very sobering. Evil exists. I am interested in details concerning the delay in release of the movie.

Interview

Check out his interview with Shawn Ryan where he discusses his beginning in Hollywood, filming the Passion, and this movie and his mission. Very intense and interesting

At first I read “bring appropriately aged wives”

And I thought, “well, good point considering the movie”

Justin Jesso- Sound of Freedom Theme song

All I kept thinking when the movie was over was how incredibly lucky this father was to get both his children back.

A co-worker asked me earlier this week if I had seen this movie yet. My friend who is a Democrat will sometimes begin (engage, confront, occasionally argue) conversations of a political nature with me. And yet we are both church going Catholics.

I said that I had heard about the movie and planned to see it, but hadn’t gone yet. He said that his mom and aunt went to see it like it was a religious duty. He brought up the MSNBC story that described it as supporting the Q-Anon conspiracy theory.

I told him that the very term “Q-Anon conspiracy theory” is an ill-defined MacGuffin used by the left.

I told him, Yes, there are people who believe in a highly positioned anonymous operative who was supposedly posting cryptic clues on message boards with loads of conspiracy theories. But it’s a factual that there are child sex slavery rings with loads of powerful people who participate (Jeffery Epstein??)that has nothing to do with Q-Anon. He scoffed and claimed that Jim Caviezal was a proponent of Q-Anon.

Well, I went to see the movie today, and it was very powerful and very good. It clearly has an agenda of highlighting the problem of child sex slavery, and it’s explicit. But why is that a problem? Loads of movies are made to highlight a problem, and are given awards for it. Crash (racism) and Hotel Rwanda (African tribal genocide) come to mind.

Having seen the movie, one point is obvious to me, which is how jaded and easily manipulated both sides (especially the mindless lefties) are and can be made to be by certain magic tribal words. For the left, Q-Anon is an example of a magic word.

Calling this movie “Q-Anon adjacent” is the biggest lefty dog whistle of warning I’ve ever seen. The left has actually sided with pedophile sex-slavers just to be anti-right. It’s dumbfounding, amazing, and enraging all at the same time.

Bill Camp should win an Oscar for his performance in this film.

While it's a solid movie, it does have some tonal consistency problems strictly from a filmmaking standpoint, but Camp is by far the best part of the movie. The film completely changes when he enters the picture.

He also has the best acting scene in the film and has by far the most powerful line when he sees the drum scene. That sequence is the best part of the movie and that fleeting moment was incredibly directed as well. Camp delivered the line of the film and lasting image of the film for me.

He's the soul of the film while Caviezel is the Archangel.

I really like your description of Bill Camp’s performance. Caviezel’s performance was pretty good but I don’t think he’ll get an Oscar nod. Bill Camp could get a supporting actor nod but I highly doubt any nominations will be given to this movie for obvious reason. And that’s perfectly fine with me. Cuz who cares about the Oscars anyway. Honestly I hope it is completely snubbed cuz this movie is bigger than any dumb award show.

He should, but I doubt he even gets a nomination. Hollywood will want to acknowledge this movie as little as possible.

The only issue - which is a very common one for "based on true story" movies - is that the organization his character is a part of didn't have nearly as much impact as they claimed in some of the rescues accomplished.

Not saying they didn't do anything, just that there was some definite exaggeration.

It's not like Bloodsport, where a fun movie is "based on a true story" that turned out to be complete and utter horseshite.

Careful there, you don’t want to offend a few of the people you might hear on WWL Radio, the same people that were making jokes about a pizza place. At least for the time being this site hasn’t bent the knee to a once great tv/radio giant, the same place that’s now full of excuses.

My parents went to see this and said each child was mentioned as a “child of god” and said it was unnecessarily pushing the religious angles. They said it sucked and would hard call it a movie
