Yeah I can see that.

I mean he's only one of the more brilliant young actors of this decade.

Uh they do it every year with Marvel. I hated TLJ too but don't try to use this as an example to fit your agenda.

Disney in a tough place with this.

If it tanks, the shine is off the Star Wars label 4 films into their investment, which is WAY earlier than anyone would have expected. Controversy and lots of negative feedback on the 3rd, with a dud on the 4th.

If it hits the right notes with the fans, then you have 2 "side" films that were well received, while the marquee trilogy currently has a shite-ton of bad press (note- movies like this are for the fans, not the critics. And despite making a lot of money, TLJ didn't make the money it was expected to, and has generated nothing like unanimous, consensus approval from the fan base).

On the one hand, I'd actually like this to be really good, because I do like Star Wars. On the other hand, I will be even more frustrated with TLJ.

Looks hilariously bad

And remember, the guy who plays Han is such an acting talent, and not some dude Speilberg met at a bar mitzvah, that production only had to be halted once so that he could take some acting lessons.

Yeah, I also thought that was a weird choice, and I like escargot.

None at all?

What about Disney sinking 100+ million into it, agree it’s a useless train wreck, resulting in reshooting 90% of it?

The internal memos expecting it to be a flop?

A teaser, which typically comes out a year in advance, contains only disparate eye candy and was released a couple of months before release?

Not a reason in the world.

Well, all we heard before Last Jedi was that internally Disney loved it and handed Rian his own trilogy.

So them hating it is probably the best thing going for it.

You'd lose...especially if you enjoyed that movie. Low energy.

I wonder where they are at on merch sales they expected. I know it use to be hard to find the main character action figures right after the movie came out and they appear to be easily found for this one. Not sure if overproduction or just not selling.

Can someone link the full trailer when released today. TIA

Also, I’m not seeing Solo in theaters unless everyone, and I mean everyone, says it’s the tits. Only redeeming thing about RO was bad arse Vader at the end. TLJ sucked. No more of my money for you Disney until you learn to get it right.

Which is their own damn fault when they became more interested in causes than storytelling.

Which is fixable and encouraging for the standalone movies. It’s a big universe. You can tell other stories aside from the Skywalkers.

Which is why trying to take the Saga in that direction was maddening. That’s what the standalones are there for. Or make another trilogy about the post RotJ world. Or whatever. But the saga has always been and should always be the story of the Skywalker family.

I was excited when I say the preview but the trailer itself disappointed me. Probably because they actually showed Han. That's not Han.
