The film, starring 23-year-old Zegler, has faced criticism from both sides of the “woke” debate, with some accusing Disney of straying too far from the original story.

Man, I had completely forgotten this releases in 2 weeks. There has been no marketing for this film. Disney isn't even trying with this one. Just wow

The article actually said it was because of 'anti - woke' backlash and pinned the blame squarely on Rachel for her insufferable comments.

It’s kind of incredible how badly they fricked this up. Should’ve been an absolute layup based on the property. Cast a likable lead, do the dwarves from the start without worrying about woke anger, and watch the money roll in.

Well, it definitely seems like Disney is expecting the worst which is why they've likely given up on it. The movie must be really bad. I wonder what happens with Zegler if this does turn out to be a huge bomb.

Current day Disney can't help themselves. They just can't. This was the founding stone on which Disney built his entire vision. This movie fails in its original release, everything that follows never happens. We may never have heard the name Walt Disney. The lack of respect and awareness across the board is hard to comprehend.

Rachel yapping about how the Prince was a stalker, and that his scenes might end up on the editing room floor was enough to have sank the movie by itself.
And yet she kept talking. Complaining about being paid while wearing an iconic dress. Taking a very public opposing view as her co-star, Gal Gadot.(who has very real skin in the game, because she's Israeli, unlike Rachel, who's just an insufferable 20ish yr old actress virtue signaling for social media clout)
Telling 1/2 her potential audience to unfollow and basically stay away wasn't genius level promotion strategy either.

I'm not sure if this film even does Little Mermaid numbers. That made 570 million WW. If Snow White only comes out to 65 million opening weekend. No chance.

That prick cost 7 guys a really good gig, not like roles are rolling in for that demo.
He probably did it to keep other small guys from getting famous so he could keep the "little man everybody knows" title to himself.

Disney has lost its magic. They ruined it with politics and ran off some of their best creatives. Even the theme parks don’t feel the same anymore.
They need to pull the ole Jerry Dinardo and bring the magic back.
