Much like the JT episode, they have been saving the good writing for this one.

I did not miss Kristen Wiig when she left at all. I always thought she was annoying as frick. Andy Samberg however...

Ditto.

I think her last two or three years she took away from the other female performers because she was in EVERY frickING SKETCH. I think she was responsible for the firing of Abby Elliott, Michaela Watkins, and Casey Wilson. Elliott was a very solid performer, Watkins was easily as creative and funny as Wiig. Wilson needed a bit more work, but I enjoyed it when she had her few sketches. Luckily for Wilson, she has made a career in sitcoms. Not sure what Watkins or Elliott are doing.

I'm sure tonight's show will be funny because of the writing and lots of "special guest stars". Vanessa Bayer, Nasim Pedrad, and Kate McKinnon will be but bit players tonight, I bet.

That's what I was wondering. She is already hosting?

Cold Opening: CSPAN Benghazi hearings; Jodi Arias as witness. Not funny. Poorly rehearsed.

D

Monologue: Typical--Wiig running around backstage and singing a song. Not very funny.

C

The Californians: I HATE The Californians

F

Commercial: Disney Channel--"Aw Nuts! Mom's a Ghost"

Great concept. Kind of short on laughs.

B-

Lawrence Welk Show w/The Merrill Sisters

I love this skit. This isn't one of the best ones, but it's still great.

B

Vampire Weekend

not a fan, but no grade because the seem to be popular with you young kids, with your rock and roll music.

Weekend Update

Anthony Crispino--"2nd hand news guy" Always pretty funny. Chris Christie: Lap dance surgery. ; Ben Gazzara lost his hearing; would not bang-- ; said a tuba player ;
Garth & Kat. I HATE Garth & Kat. Please make it stop:

D-(Garth & Kat turned a B-/C+ into a D-)

Target Lady
--Jay Pharoah sighting!!!!!
--extra points for Vanessa Bayer

C+

Accupuncture (Wiig, Aidy Bryant, Jason Sudeikis)
--They haven't used the "spurting bodily fluids" gag in years.

B

Vampire Weekend

(once again, no grade)

Eddy's Restaurant (underage double date)
--Ok. Nice concept. Could have been better.

B-

CD Commercial
--Nasim is hot.
--looks like Studio 8H just got its own Autotuner

B-/C+

OVERALL GRADE: C

I don't understand the Californians skit. Is this supposed to parody some show?

Yeah this is only the second time I laughed at the Californians. Usually it sucks but it was solid tonight.

you know how Maine Justice was kinda a parody of court room shows but nobody outside of LA really cared for it?

pretty much the same thing. it's a parody of a generic soap opera, but nobody outside of California is going to get it

I'll admit that I laughed at the faces that Rudolph and Wiig were making at the very end.
