How Common keeps getting acting gigs is beyond me

Common and the actress playing Shirley are the only problems for me, but they make for significant problems. Shirley hasn't been an issue because she has had so little screen time, but that was not the case in episode 2.
Bummer, because I otherwise really liked this one.

Yes, the perpetually angry black girl is awful. It’s like her face is frozen in the mad position. Her acting? Brutally horrific. Common looks like Daniel Day Lewis compared to that girl. The character of Shirley, and many others, is not needed and should bet cut out ASAP.

For those watching or hate-watching, this week’s episode releases tonight at 8pm due to Thanksgiving.

i dont think this is correct. IMDB says tomorrow the 27th. appleTV also says the same
edit: apparently appleTV releases some streams the evening before release dates, so you might be right about the episode releasing tonight. that would be great, and I did not know apple did this

Much better episode this week. Hope it keeps moving along.
Steve Zahn keeps popping up in shows I like. White Lotus, Righteous Gemstones, and now Silo.

I’m going to keep watching but I feel like nothing happens in this show. Kind of sad because it’s an interesting concept.

Wagontrain is a cool show, but do you ever notice that they never get anywhere? They just keep...wagontraining.

Watched the new episode last night. What do y’all think?
I’m a bit underwhelmed this season. Acting has been bad and the story is stagnant

I haven't watched the newest episode. I'll probably watch it today.
Last episode I watched was E3 and it was better than 1/2 IMO, but I'm underwhelmed as well.

At least the rebellion plot is moving forward finally.
The potentially more interesting storyline, however, is draggin on at a snail's pace.

They’ve veered from the source material on some things where I have no idea how they will reconcile.
As for the abandoned silo with Solo I was hopeful but thought it could be tough to translate to the screen. Without having the internal monologue that a book provides it’s tough to make it not slow. You have to have an extremely strong charismatic lead.
It’s like cast away and Solo is Wilson.
It’s overall picked up so I’m fairly entertained and will keep watching, but it makes me doubt being able to pull off book 2. With that said if Apple can’t pull it off no one will.

I just got into this show over the weekend and am now caught up to S2E4.
While the acting hasn't been anything spectacular, it hasn't been too bad (except for irrationally always-angry trope character Shirley) for an Apple series. For the role he plays, I don't even mind Common as long as they continue to play the character with a hardness that keeps others at arm's length. That said, his motivational speech to the crowd near the end of E4 came across as skirting into Mary Sue area as Common's character has the warmth and charisma of a Coke machine. The mayor sending him out to give that speech felt... wrong... not from the standpoint of bad writing but from the standpoint of it seeming like he's setting Robbert (Common) up to be the fall guy for causing an eventual rebellion (due to his being responsible for the impeachment protests).
For me, the biggest drag is the writing. Specifically, the rush job they did on making Juliette a standard bearer in the eyes of so many in the Silo. She left the uppers as a child then spent her young-adult and adult years in the lower levels, meaning she had no real time to build a good reputation with any group outside of engineering. Once she became sheriff, she didn't really do anything of enough noteworthiness for the uppers to know anything about her. I would have liked a bit more of her working on well-noticed but interesting issues/cases which perhaps expand a bit on which things are considered forbidden and why (at least the "official" reason why other than just "cuz rebellion").
Along with that, it seems to me to be a glaring logic hole that the video of Juliette finding nothing but desolation beyond the hill is exactly what the Mayor should be showing everyone to calm thoughts of rebellion, but at the same time he busts his arse to make sure no one knows it even exists. He could easily have passed it off as a "new technology" like he did with the tape.
Other than that, it's been a fun enough show with which to fill the time between episodes of Landman.

I find myself looking at my phone during certain parts of the show but I still think the concept is cool and will watch to the end then eventually read the book.

For those who are not a fan of Common will not like the new episode but outside of that the story does proceed forward with another cliffhanger finish.
