The way the wife dies, though...

Watched it the other day. The only strange part to me was when the dog got stabbed by the kid. After that Mel Gibson was like frick it. Go put the other dog far away tied up to a building. Just seemed like he didn't give 2 shits for his dogs

I discussed some shots that I thought were masterful in a thread a few months back. This time I wanna mention that Gibson knocks it out of the park in this movie. Love his performance. The basement scene with Morgan is breathtaking.

It's good at what it's supposed to be, a very creepy almost Twilight Zone type experience.
If you don't overanalyze it, it's a great sci-fi horror thriller.
my favorite part is when they're reading the book and they see a picture that looks like their house and then they see three charred bodies lying in the lawn, talk about creepy.
the cinematography is also quite good. Like when he sees the silhouette of one standing on the barn in the distance and then stands up and looks again and it's gone.
Sure it has some logical holes they could patched up with better writing, but they don't ruin the movie.
Regardless its the last semi-decent thing shama-lama-ding-dong ever made.

Dumbass aliens coming to a planet that is 90% water to eat humans that are 95% water.

Wasn't this Mel Gibsons last leading acting performance in a big time movie?
He was good in this.

That said, one of the scariest movies I’ve ever seen in theaters.
How about water vapor?

Whenever this point it brought up, I think about heat.
Humans can withstand ambient heat, not so much if a lot at high amount is directed at a point.
The aliens had suits that could withstand ambient water vapor, not so much if a lot of water was present in a denser amount. Again, all this was explained in the film.

Hand of Fate part 1-2 on YouTube is one hell of a musical score

I liked Signs so much when I saw it in the theatre, I went back the next night and took my grandmother. She was into scary movies because they didn't scare her. Signs she thought was good, but claimed she wasn't stattled even once.
I still get chills when that alien steps out at the birthday party.

Terrible movie. The dynamic between Gibson and hairlip was non-existant and the ending was as hokey as movies get.
