Benicio del Toro was awesome in Sicario, I hope he’s back.
He was far more effective than he was in TLJ where he didn’t serve the plot at all other than to negate 40 minutes of my life I’ll never get back.

BDT was born to play his role in this movie. The first one is a freaking masterpiece. Cant wait.

sicario was one of my favorites from the past few years. SOLDADO will not be like that, no matter how much the new director tries to emulate Denis Villeneuve from the looks of that trailer.
that said, mexican cartels have always fascinated me and i'm sure i'll enjoy it. i expect this will be more of a straight forward action movie than the measured masterpiece that was Sicario, but at least it's a movie for adults, with a solid cast, intriguing plot, and not another comic book re-tread.

seems like it will be a straight up josh brolin/BDT/jeffrey donovan action pic where they start some shite with the cartels.
i hope they don't hold anything back.

yeah, that's pretty much how i see it too. and from the article i read announcing this project a few months ago, the screenwriter taylor sheridan said "‘Soldado’ ‘Makes the First One Look Like a Comedy’. So it will be all in bloody.

I'm convinced that no one told Del Toro to stutter in TLJ
