Love it. It’s a horror movie fans dream streaming service. They have all of the great Italian horror movies like The Beyond

ETA: The Beyond is truly an amazing movie. If you are from New Orleans and like horror watch it!!!

I disagree. I keep meaning to cancel it. It’s an uninspired collection and I rarely see anything worth watching.

It’s 5 dollars

Definitely worth it for the month of October

Also, you get a free trial for like a week. So try it.

It’s about as good as it gets as far as content vs price. Well worth it.

Get an AMC+ subscription instead. It has AMC+, Shudder, IFC Films, and Sundance

I can never justify keeping Shudder for more than a couple months b/c you can get through the good parts of the library quickly.

I will cycle an ACM+ sub about 2x/year, usually when prime will put them on sale. Last time I had AMC+ I remember thinking that the limited selection of IFC Films and Sundance competed with Shudder. They had Kill List, A Dark Song, and others. There was a point a year or so ago where the crime section of Shudder was superior to its horror selection.

I have it. Its great, although I always forget to watch it but they have some decent original/lesser known stuff and a lot of really good older stuff.

That’s on you then. For $5/month you get a library of horror but where they shine are their original movies, which many have been excellent additions to the horror genre and reflect so in top horror lists each year.

A Dark Song

THIS is the movie I’ve been trying to think of the past week. I added it to my Netflix queue a few years ago, and never got around to watching it. It just popped in my head the other day, but couldn’t remember the name, or what it was about. I just knew it was a uk production, and had strange witchcraft/cult type symbols on the cover. Pretty good flick though?

Downloading now.

If you watch They Will Kill you on YouTube, they have a Shudder promo code for the first month free...theywillkillyou

So basically if you just want it for Halloween month.

It has classics, some good foreign horror and a lot of 80's schlock.

Not a huge library.

Yeah I went to look yesterday. IFC Unlimited has:

Kill List
A Dark Song
Pontypool (still one of the best horror starts ever)
Autopsy of Jane Doe
Contracted
Baskin
Pyewacket
The Babadook (even though it's not a personal favorite)
Backcountry
Room 237
The Cured

This is very likely a better lineup than Shudder. Those are just the ones I've seen personally, they have a bunch more.

So yeah, always go for AMC+ b/c Shudder isn't worth it for $5/month alone.

Thoughts
when you have about $20,000+ worth of horror films already..

..you don't need channels like this. And its sad cause its like, no rocks left to be unturned type of feeling.

As a kid id walk into a video store and be surrounded by so many films I hadn't seen yet, was exciting.

Bro when I was scrolling through IFC's catalogue this morning I got that feeling and almost bought an AMC+ sub for this month to watch them

Just added to my list. I’m halfway watching a bad one on shudder right now.

I just looked up a dark song and realized I watched it already and really liked it

Not gonna lie, the shudder original films are just absolute trash. None of them are good outside of maybe Hosts. Maybe.

I don't know their official list but from what I remember, I wasn't impressed. I think Gwen was the only one I even put on a queue.

Unless we're including Mandy, and I'm not sure if that's a Shudder original or just has a distribution agreement with Shudder. Mandy was awesome.

I'm a fan of V/H/S 1 and 2, so I'm curious how 94 turns out.

But yeah, LOTS of trash. That's why I was chuckling at Zombie's comments earlier
