WKRP (show had much longer life than 4 seasons. fricking CBS)
I had no idea it was that short lived. I used to watch it every day on reruns. Love that show.

Agree 100%

This thread has reminded me of so many that I loved that I can't believe they didn't come to me right away when first responding.

I also had no clue how many people liked Better Off Ted. I felt like I was the only one watching it when I brought it up amongst my friends while it was airing.

So a lot of people say Firefly, but I actually disagree.

If Firefly had never been canned, we would have never gotten:

Castle
Suits
V & Homeland
John Casey in Chuck
the Glau Curse
Or Serenity!

I really hate that it didn't last longer.. but at least we got pretty awesome characters and shows to replace it.. and a full length film as well.

Black Donnellys and Firefly have to be way up there.

And Cowboy Bebop. Though that's just me being selfish. The others legitimately ended too early. Particularly Black Donnellys, which didn't even make it the whole season before getting canned, only to become one of the most popular NBC dramas in recent history on the internet.

Chuck -- not a great show, but enjoyed it anyway.

Deadwood -- mixed feelings since it freed up Oliphant to do Justified.

Kings and Flash Forward are two that have been mentioned that I agree with.

Arrested Development.

And I can't believe no one mentioned Fawlty Towers yet.
