It's pretty good. I enjoyed it. Felon with Val Kilmer is another good movie.

One of the better prison movies out there. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau should be a bigger star. Probably needs to change his name though

Watched this within the last six months or so. I enjoyed it. Crazy how this normal arse dude can transform into the ruthless gangster and have a completely different life.

Living the life!
ETA: I sold advertising for a Dallas paper for 29 years. One of my customers started freebasing, and ended up hooked on crack. He started selling it, got busted, and went to prison. Six or seven years later he got out and called me to start running ads again. When he came into the office to pay, I was there. I was surprised to see he had a swastika tattoo on his arm. I knew he wasn't much of a racist, so I asked him about it. He said he had to be with them, or he'd be open game for the Black and Mexican gangs.
The crazy thing was he had just gotten out of prison when I first met him. His brother brought him in and helped get him set up with me in the 80's.
Ten years later he goes back and when he tells me about it he says it's a completely different set up. Apparently the white guys in prison had to counter the Black and Mexican gangs by growing the White gangs to huge numbers and showing they were willing to do whatever was necessary to gain respect.

He really should be a bigger name. He nailed this role.

One thing didn't really make sense in this movie was how it only took the one stabbing incident to get moved into the SHU with the worst of the worst.
The real stories of the AB in the 70's, 80's, and 90's are pretty fricking crazy. Tom Silverstein, TD Bingham, Barry Mills etc those are some of the most ruthless sons of bitches to ever walk the earth.

I saw it for the first time a couple years ago at the suggestion of you guys/girls on this board. Seen it like 5 times since then. My goodness it's a great movie.

He might want to invest in some long sleeve shirts.

Jon Bernthal is really convincing as an unhinged/might snap at any time person. I liked this movie too.

The scene with his son at the hotel is so painfully difficult to get through, I'm not sure I could watch it again.

If you like this, check out Brawl In Cell Block 99 with Vince Vaughn.

I’ve worked in the Federal Prison system for over 20 years. I don’t watch a lot of prison movies because they are usually very un-realistic. This movie definitely had some moments that I had to suspend disbelief but I thought they nailed the portrayal of the inmates. I’ve watched it twice and I really liked it.
