Not scrolling through the last page or two of the thread to avoid the potential spoiler but can OP change the title to NO SPOILERS so some Jackarse can’t stumble in and ruin the ending for us non-readers ?????

Well, I won't post other than to say this-

That guy y'all are referring to is simply a dumbass who can't follow a plot thread.

I lied, I'm also gonna say this-

I'm thoroughly enjoying this thread. Probably more than I'm enjoying the show. I wish I hadn't read the book, but my wife already had and I couldn't stand her lording that over me while we watched.

Enjoy the ride, folks.

Was that Amma dead out in that shed or is it assumed that was just her imagination?

Do we know that? We don’t know how far back that flashback is. He did go on to Adora about “Did you forget I lost a daughter too?” It seems like he got together with Adora after Chammile’s sister who died was conceived—I don’t think he was her father. Maybe he met a Adora while they were visiting their daughter’s in rehab?

Eh. I pretty easily assumed he was there with Adora as Camille’s father (the looked “together” in the flashback) and the daughter he also lost was Camille’s younger sister.

I’m also pretty sure Camille has referenced him in passing as her father (I can’t remember the exact quote but she mentions something about her mother and father being fricked up I believe).

And I made that assumption as a non-book reader.

I thought he was about to pick up a gun and blow his brains out.

If that dude is Camille’s father, then they’ve got an even more fricked up relationship than she does with her mom. I really don’t think he is.

Pretty sure he is Camille's stepdad and Amma's biological father. And I assumed the daughter he mentioned losing was a daughter he had before marrying Adora.

The flashback was pretty recent. I think what happened to Alice caused Camille to behave in such a way that her boss sent her back to her hometown. Alan was there when Marian died. That was like 20 years before Alice died. Alice looked to still be in her later teenage years.

I think the line to Adora was just to show that he kept his emotions about losing Marian to himself all these years to let Adora be Adora. He also stood up for Camille to Adora. It’s pretty clear he has been with those girls since they were young.

Nah. The person who posted that just just missed something, and admitted being an idiot.

Anyone listen to the Bald Move podcast? I bring this up because I noticed something on there that I noticed on this thread. You have to pay close attention to really follow this show, but people seem to be missing the simple things. The Bald Move guys thought Ashley and Jodes were the same person, even though Ashley outright said in a scene Jodes was her sister.

This last episode, there were a few different simple things that they just got blatantly wrong. Maybe you spend so much time focused on trying to pick up Easter eggs that you just look right past things that are spelled out for you.

Why would anybody after what you said about it?

There’s no doubt abou this. It’s got a unique editing style with sudden, almost uncomfortable cuts, where you know you have to pay really close attention to catch all the clues, that it’s easy to not see the forrest for the trees. For me, anyway.

I’ve never read the book. Just something that popped in my head when I saw the step dad in the hallway after the girl killed herself. Now it seems I’ve started a shitstorm with people thinking I posted spoilers. Not the case. I’m not a book reader

That is true. But I went back and watched the scene after others questioned what I was saying and it does look like he was with Adora

You’re right. I’m wrong.

Just thought it was weird people were jumping on that poster as a book reader because they made that assumption, as I did the same.

Yep. You make a wrong assumption during a murder mystery show that has tons of dots people are trying to connect, which leads to wrong assumptions being made, and all of a sudden you must be a book reader who just spoiled things for everyone

Episode 1 - I recorded the series and watched 1st episode. Set up episode. Looks pretty good. Not reading this thread up to here because I don't want to know what happens.

2 things - Is a town of 2,000 in Missouri big enough to support a gay bar? Give me a break.

Right off the bat you see that Camille has an Obama poster. No surprise, this is Hollywood. But as the show goes on you find out that Camille is a self mutilating, snobbish, antisocial drunk. That's realistic writing. Someone like that could only be an Obama supporter.

How has the show been this far? I don’t want to read spoiler so will hold off, but is the show worth starting?

I think it's better than Big Little Lies. Which I thought was amazing.

It's appointment television for me every Sunday evening. Which rarely happens nowadays.

I am just now getting around to finishing season 2 of Westworld so I guess I found my next show.
