At the very least, he should’ve walked away from Cersei once and for all and stayed with Brianne.

No. Brienne was utterly unsexy and manly and Jaime choosing to be with her would’ve been ridiculous. Yes, even more ridiculous than fricking his own sister. That’s how gross Brienne was.

That still hasn't materialized.
It never will. The irony of the whole thing is that they ruined the very thing, the only thing that gave them legitimacy, just to get to Star Wars. In doing so, they made themselves professionally unworthy to direct a Star Wars trilogy. No one wants to see a movie 'brought to you by the guys who fricked up Game of Thrones.'

Stannis and Shireen is one of the things GRRM told the Ds.

This is correct. Just a great, slow burn turn. Only for him to tell Tyrion when he was Dany's prisoner at the end "I never really cared about anyone." That went against pretty much every major decision he had made at that point in both the shows and the books.

Jaime and everyone else definitely thought she was fugly. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but in the books didn't Jaime every once in a while have thoughts about Brienne that gave him arousal? I think he surprised even himself with those thoughts and he put them away, but I swear that happened. It's been a while since I've read the books though.

YES, YES, YES. We've yet to see how book Sansa will turn out, but show Sansa had a better story arc than Arya and Jamie put together! She was a pawn of the Lannisters, Littlefinger, the Tyrells, the Boltons. Her story arc was in the Top 3 most interesting in GoT.
I really enjoyed Margaery Tyrell's story too.

They are currently adapting the Three Body Problem trilogy for Netflix. The books are finished, so maybe it will alright.

Steve Harrington from stranger things

A redemption arc that doesn’t end up in the exact same fricking place.

Everyone knew the King was “mad”. Jaime just did something that is looked down upon even if it was the right thing to do.

In a previous version of this thread on this board, someone posted a mock screen play segment of an alternative ending where Jamie kills the night king.

It was well done. If they had done that, he would be the greatest story arc ever.

There wasn't an arc. After 8 seasons he ended up being the same exact character that he was in the beginning. It could have been one of the best arcs of all time but it was ruined. Jamie Lannister coming full circle to the character he was in episode 1 is not a good story. Everything he went through didn't change his character at all. It's worse since he was one of the farthest away from the character he originally started out as as but the last minute completely reverts back to the original.

Black Sails has three characters, Capt. Flint, Long John Silver, and Jack Rackham that all had incredible arcs. Three of my favorite of all time. Incredible characters from start to finish but who are completely different by the end.

Kevin Garvey in The Leftovers is another personal favorite.

Maybe could have been but I would go with the Hound for me.

Arya had a great arc as well but never really struggled between good and bad. The Hound found himself on both sides throughout the series.

It burned in the end and all he did was try and get his sister out. Not sure he was trying to save KL.

I think he's probably talking about saving it when he killed the mad king. He was going to burn all of Kings Landing if Jamie wouldn't have killed him.

Him dying in a scene with Cersei with bricks falling on top of them was the all time worst TV show death scenes I've ever sat and watched. Two brilliant characters and they killed them off in the dumbest way possible. I'm still pissed off about that show.

No way. He was a big brute that would do ruthless things when ordered, but he didn’t just do them because was some kind of naturally viscous man like his brother.

The Hound showed a lot of (relative) kindness to Sansa when she was trapped at Joffrey’s court when no one else would. He was always more of a tweener turned good guy.
