Such a sad character. And no one knew what a hero he actually was for saving Kings Landing.

He didn't kill Cersie so I say no. Ending up where you statmrted isn't an arc, it's a circle.

It wasn’t an arc. It was a circle because he ended up back where he started.

This is the Jaime we deserved.
quote:

It was Riverrun’s old maester, with a message clutched in his lined and wrinkled hand. Vyman’s face was as pale as the new-fallen snow. “I know,” Jaime said, “there has been a white raven from the Citadel. Winter has come.”

“No, my lord. The bird was from King’s Landing. I took the liberty … I did not know …” He held the letter out.

Jaime read it in the window seat, bathed in the light of that cold white morning. Qyburn’s words were terse and to the point, Cersei’s fevered and fervent. Comeat once, she said. Help me. Save me. I need you now as I have never needed you before. I love you. I love you. I love you. Come at once.

Vyman was hovering by the door, waiting, and Jaime sensed that Peck was watching too. “Does my lord wish to answer?” the maester asked, after a long silence.

A snowflake landed on the letter. As it melted, the ink began to blur. Jaime rolled the parchment up again, as tight as one hand would allow, and handed it to Peck. “No,” he said. “Put this in the fire.”

Was one of the most unique, deep, well-rounded, surprising arc ever

This, I’ll agree with. At the very least, he should’ve walked away from Cersei once and for all and stayed with Brianne.

He's the best character in the books. D&D fricked him and fricked Stannis Baratheon.

Think they regret admitting to the world that they had no idea what they were doing??

They had at least an idea how horrible of a rushed job they were doing. They just didn't give a shite because they wanted to get to that Star Wars money.

No way. Brienne had a one way love with him. It was more of a respect thing from him IMO. But him going back to Cersei and not ending her was insulting. He went back on 7.5 seasons worth of buildup.

Awesome build up, that was wasted by D & D. Those 2 fricktards should never work in Hollywood again.

It was almost like they purposely ruined what what should have been the greatest show of all time.

Honestly tho, when they announced they were adapting the books, this was the fear when starting before the books were finished.

Even without source material though, they couldn't have done any worse. I've read fan fiction that was far and away better than the bullshite they came up with.

What kills me is that HBO had given them a blank check. It was like they just wanted to end it as quickly as possible.

Jaime is a tragic character.

The poor guy never had control of his own life ... not for one minute ... until the final months of his life. (You could argue that he acted on his own initiative when he killed Aerys, but I question that.)

When he finally had the chance to think for himself, set his own course and do the right thing, 30 years of conditioning won out.

Because they got dropped from Star Wars for the shite job they did. So at least there was some sense of fairness.

In GOT Sansa Stark had a better story arc than Jaime. She went from a naïve teenager to a woman who watched her father decapitated and she was tortured and humiliated by two of the worst characters in the series to rise to Queen of the North.

Frankly, Jaime was an idiot.
