Season 2 is probably my favorite season. I know for most, its the opposite. Season 2 made me want to go join a union and fight the good fight. IRL I'm repub and hate unions.

Exactly. He is so fricked up, but that is when he shines as natural police.

You understand The Wire better than SFP does.

Season 2 made you understand the police motivationsore so then any other season. It was nothing but stats even after thy pulled in the case of the life time. Explains why mcnulty goes crazy in other seasons.

Montage of season 3 in the finale is one of my favorite scenes in the entire series
Totally agree. Awesome Solomon Burke tune playing over it too.

Season 4 is the best season of TV you will ever see. It's a piece of art.

***SPOILERS***
stringer only set them up financially to where they were rich beyond their dreams and insulated from any criminal activity
avon would rather unwind that for the street honor of owning a few corners, in a street climate that didn't even value that anymore (see: the coop and how they didn't give a frick about "real estate")
***END SPOILERS****

yes, seasons 4 and 5 were my least favorite. all still very good, though. season 5 though, went to a little "jumped the shark" territory with the McNulty/Freamon story to me. as I was watching, and I just finished the series last night, I felt just like Bunk the whole time.
hated the ending. hated all the deals made, hated how people that should've gotten "got" didn't and how some people were just allowed to walk.
but, I suppose that is what made it great television; the whole thing didn't go how I expected or wanted it to. i would recommend it to anyone.

****SPOILERS******:
Stringer got played in the development game and was trying blow the whole thing up by killing a State Senator, all the while giving up half of the most important resource in the world, real estate to their biggest competition. Avon, the kingpin who sees everything, overruled him on the assassination attempt and sought to take back his real estate knowing that the Co-Op would not last.
I've already kicked SFP's arse on this topic until he backed out of his own thread on The Wire.He should stop.
******END SPOLIERS*******
Season 3 is overrated.

it's great that we're still debating one of the greatest TV shows of all time even after it's been off the air for a while, but I'm not sure some of you are even watching the same show

i think that's what makes it so great. the dynamic choices by most of the characters. many people have seen it and have many different opinions on what the true motives were. it was hard to judge. most characters that I started out loving, I ended up hating.
