A lot can happen with CGI. Not saying it'd be good.
Are we sure Terminator 5 isn't about the future invention of terminators and some scientist (Arnold Schwarzenegger) invented one to look like himself when he was young?

They had an interesting premise that they wanted to stretch out for a trilogy and since it was so bad, we never got to see it. Should have included it all in 4.

They already established in T-3 that the terminator was modeled after a soldier (Arnold Schwarzenegger).

I was thinking something similar. I didn't realize that the original terminators (T-101 or something) were revealed in T3 to have been modeled after a soldier.
Salvation wasn't good, but I don't think it was terrible. Maybe because I saw the potential in it. I do have to say that the awful, "Scorpion-king in The Mummy Returns" CGI that they used to make Arnold as a T-101 was freaking awful and ruined the climactic scene.
