I don't know why so many people were concerned with her weight/look. With CGI and camera tricks, they could always make her appear bigger than she is.

I have absolutely no concerns with the visual style. You know it will at least look cool with Snyder. That's not the problem with most of his films.

I know, right. But how is that different from anything else on this board involving DC?

You know how many people thought Gadot was a good choice?

Like you, and 5 people. Everyone, meaning the internet, hated Gadot, almost as much as Affleck. That was not a DC-hate thing, that was a "She's 5'6 and 115 lbs." thing.

So, I'm not a comic reader (TWD being the sole exception) and was wondering which is better, DC or Marvel?

She isn't 115 anymore. What do you think about the pic?

Being able to see her in the better resolution pic, she does look a lot better than what I was expecting. I like her costume too. It's close enough to her traditional costume, but without the hokie red, white, and blue colors.

And is she standing on a volcano or something?

What? Is that not a legit question to ask of comic nerds?

I think people want authenticity, especially when it comes to properties that have existed for years. Yes, there are differences from artist to artist, from age to age, but there's always consistency.

People want that without camera tricks. (And I trust few directors outside of classic Cameron, Jackson and del Toro to get away with camera tricks like that. Everyone else is close to terrible at it.)

I'll say what I said when cast, unless she can stand toe to toe with Superman, it isn't going to look traditional. She looks better than expected, but still both young and small-ish, and she isn't contrasted with another hero on screen yet, so I still reserve judgement.

I never cared about WW all that much, my issue, outside of Goyer's involvement, is that she's involved in the first place. Simply put, it's just too many new people in that movie, especially when you are introducing a new Batman.

Thankfully, isn't Goyer's script being rewritten by someone? That's probably the best news that movie could have.

That I'll reserve judgement until she's seen "in action". The pic looks better than I anticipated but it's a highly doctored one (i.e. Resolution, background, etc). I don't think it was unreasonable for people to be concerned that a woman may not be able to bulk up/fill out that much with her frame.

I think it was rewritten by the guy who wrote Argo. I do think it's a lot to put on screen for one movie and not call it The Justice League. Hopefully most of the characters don't have more than a cameo in this movie.

I know you're just trolling, but hell, I'll give an honest answer:

DC clearly has the more iconic classic characters from their Golden Age. Really, only Spider Man and maybe Captain American are as truly iconic as DC's pantheon of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. That's both a blessing and a curse, because its hard to write a story for an icon instead of a character.

Marvel tends to have far better storytelling for its heroes. When they make a movie, they tend to use Marvel's stories. When they make a DC movie, they just keep the origin story as its so well known, and chuck the rest. Outside of some Batman stories, it's hard to think of any truly great DC superhero stories in the past 30 years. So if you care about superhero characters and a coherent universe, Marvel is your bag.

That said, again, DC's stand alone comics and characters are amazingly great. Their prestige brand is fabulous. They did stuff like Sandman, Preacher, and Watchmen and continue to this day. DC's non-universe stuff is pretty great, and Marvel cant touch that. They've been unable to branch out past its own universe.

I've seen adaptations of WW where she's not really bulky. I was worried because Gal was really skinny. But after that pic, I think she looks great. I'm not worried about the frame at all.

She's never going to stand toe to toe with Superman from a physical standpoint. Cavill looks like a body builder.
