I have a friend who recently started watching Season 1 of Ozark. He texted and said he said he trouble believing that Ruth was capable of being such a badass and even creating fear in her dumbass cousins. I replied and told him I absolutely can buy her as a fierce, tough girl. I just watched her kick some poor fricker out of a wheelchair. I realize this isn't a major deal, necessarily, but I was curious about the board's opinion of her character..

One of the reasons I couldn’t get into the show. Totally unbelievable and cliche character. It’s like they gave Jesse Pinkman Walt’s dialogue.

I love the show but agree 100%. She wayyyy overacts and the accent is horrible. I can’t believe people are saying she’s hot. GTFO

Her family feared her because they were afraid of what her Dad would do to them if they did not follow her lead. This was made abundantly clear in Season 1.
