following the failure of the Galaxy's Edge theme park, the president of Disney Parks West has been removed.

THR actually says that Disney has gone so far as to remove Catherine Powell's position completely and that she is leaving the studio.

For one, following the release of The Last Jedi, everything Star Wars has been on the decline - which is proven simply by reading Disney's quarterly financial reports - including Solo, the merchandise, and now the theme parks. A lot of fans simply aren't happy with Disney's approach to the franchise, and it shows.

I wouldn't call the new lands failures. They are a draw. Though whoever designed them did drop the ball by not putting any kid rides in the land.
That's a gripe. You have two rides. One is a top five ride of all time. The other is fun once or twice but isn't as good as star tours.

You can't build a lightsaber or even go into the cantina with it a reservation so there is demand.

YouTubers will keep making money of this rumor for another 4 years or so.

This is a huge flaw.

This will die down. The cantina is fun, but not really a must do every trip thing. Only so many people will spend that much on a lightsaber.

That park hasn't been updated except for SW so it will get plenty of traffic

They also added an entire Toy Story land and the first ever Mickey Mouse themed ride. Hollywood Studios went from worst park to best park in under a year.

The down side to their lack of constant improvement is it funnels people to those areas

Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios are all in pretty good shape in terms of attractions. Magic Kingdom will be better off when they finish the Tron coaster.

They halted all of their Epcot plans when they shut down for COVID even though Florida didn't require them to halt construction for that long (or at all?). All of those updates would have been completed by now but they've only completed the Ratatouille ride at this point (but haven't opened it to the public). The Guardians of the Galaxy ride is only about half complete. They've also apparently canned the revamp of Spaceship Earth and the Mary Poppins area. It's really unfortunate that Epcot won't be getting the full revamp it deserves.

No it’s not

Rise of the Resistance is so popular that boarding groups are gone within 30 seconds of being able to secure one. It is literally one of, if not the most popular theme park attractions in the world. Smuggler’s Run usually has the second longest wait times in Hollywood Studios despite it being a pretty meh experience. . Galaxy’s Edge is by far the most congested land in Hollywood Studios even though it has most open walkways.

I'd love to do that, but I just don't see how it's going to be worth what they're going to charge for it.

Epcot needs an update. It was meh when I went, but that was 8 years ago. It had some cool stuff, but not enough to fill a day IMO.

The world pavilion is great for a park day with no kids. Since they've started allowing park hopping again, Epcot gets busy at night because it is open the latest, so folks go there for drinks and dinner.

The rides there are sorely lacking. Soarin is great. Test Tack is great. The Frozen ride is great. The Seas with Nemo is cute. Figment is a shell of its former self. Spaceship Earth is cool, but desperately needs a revamp. The Mexico ride is just...bad. Totally dated. A Coco revamp would be a welcome change, so of course they've made no indication that they'll do that. Mission Space is good if you don't mind tight spaces and wanting to throw up. I hate it.

Once they open Ratatouille and Guardians of the Galaxy, that will be huge. Still not enough though. They need to scrap their woke plans for Splash Mountain and Jungle Cruise in Magic Kingdom and finish what they planned for Epcot instead of announcing cancellations for that park. Those decisions make it seem clear that Disney is more interested in virtue signaling than entertaining these days.

It's going to be quite a coupon. Right now the rumors are pricing it in the vicinity of a cross country trip or a 4-5 day cruise for my family of 5, and that's just for a couple days. I just don't see the value in that. I can't imagine what they're offering that could possibly be worth that price.

They're talking about $7,200 for "2 nights, 3 days" for a 5 person cabin. That's insane.

It is. Considering that the average American family doesn’t have $400 to cover an emergency happening.

But there are plenty of people that love credit and will be willing to shell out and pay that two night weekend off over the course of 10 years.

Americans are horrible with money.
