Legit people with insiders think it’s worth discussing and think he probably does have sources

think a lot of nerd culture around big IPs has this thing going on where they feel like they need to do the opposite of whatever the critics are saying because the critics try to sell slop as incredible art all the time. So when critics say something isn't good, some of the more nerd/incel types like it almost out of spite or something.

It’s politics whether people want to hear it or not.

Snyder is seen as right wing and Gunn is obviously left wing so it causes friction in the fan base

Hasn't Snyder came out and said he's a liberal?

Gunn needs to realize that just because it entertains him, that doesn’t mean the general audience will agree, the finale of peacemaker just seemed pretty self indulgent.

I’m pretty sure but fans see him as right wing because he works out and provably the masculine themes in his stories.

Plus redditors group all “snyderbros” as that archetype

Yeah his biggest issue isn't that he is a bad director, its that he believes he is an incredible director.

The broader subject of reviews and resistance to critics is, yes

But I don't necessarily think this is the case

That will be the first line in James Gunn’ Obituary. The guy is obsessed with himself.

I think he needs to stay off social media. But the guy just can't help himself

It diid not. Another flop

Doesn't mean it's not a good show though. Season one was fantastic. Haven't watched the finale for S2 yet but apparently it's a let down. Still overall a very good show.

All that being said, I'm not a big Gunn fan. Seems contradictory since I like Peacemaker but I'm just sick of super hero movies being comedies. Gunn and Waititi movies are just too unserious for me. Didn't even bother watching Guardians 3 or Superman.

Give me more Nolan Batman, The Batman, Iron Man 1, Winter Soldier, Infinity War type super hero movies. She shift from gritty super hero movies to just straight up goofy comedies is one of the many many turnoffs to super hero movies overall, especially the MCU.

And the gaming board was upset Assassin’s Creed was going to make a game about killing the Klan.

Right, not saying anybody shouldn’t like Peacemaker. I didn’t watch past Ep1 of S2 so I have no idea if it’s good. I was talking about its lack of viewership. I love some flops so I agree with you on that. Loved Highlander and that was a massive flop. So was Bladerunner but that movie is in my top 10.

It’s fine when he’s doing it with characters most people weren’t aware even existed but start doing it with the big guys and you’ll see more backlash

I didn’t care but can get why changing Superman’s parents up pissed people off. Maybe there will be a payoff down the road

Wondering what his take on Batman will be like

Yeah makes me see through Gunn's bullshite when he has a character state "our world isn't any different than Nazi world", and the Adebayo actress says she can't go certain places in the US because she's black

frick off. He's blatantly messaging politics and it's so fricking boring

Life was much better when it was considered rude to discuss politics and religion in public.
