If you think about it this is pretty much exactly how this dirt poor family from Illinois would have ended up.

Becky doesn't graduate high school. husband is dead.
Darlene has i'm sure multiple issues and still lives with her parents plus her son like to wear dresses.
Jackie is just an overly emotional mess.
DJ joins the army and gets PTSD and marries someone he meets enlisted.
Roseanne and Dan still working their asses off barely scraping by.
