Before Disney killed the EU it is widely accepted that the Empire was a male dominated, humanist dictatorship. The only two female Imperial leaders I ever recall are Ysanne Isard who headed up Imperial Intelligence and Admiral Natasi Daala who was in a relationship with Grand Moff Tarkin. It was only after Pellaeon took over leadership of the Imperial Remnants did they move past that. As for the clones, they had finally all be phased out in favor of human conscripts by the time of ANH.

You have to understand that whether the EU is dead or not there are a lot of people like myself that simply don't care and view the movies as the Star Wars universe
Besides I never want to see a movie where having read the books is a requirement for understanding anything in the movie.

My first guesses were either Thrawn, the canonization of Revan, or Vader v. Maul, although the latter two could have easily been slipped into the Season 2 finale.
I hope it's Thrawn, he was by far my favorite EU character. If it isn't I would love to have at least a canon Captain Gilad Pellaeon. Timothy Zahn managed to create two iconic characters and another famous ship in the Chimaera.

Fans are speculating that the blind Asian with the stick is Kanan from Rebels now that he was blinded by Maul. 
BTW, no one is bitching about the lens flare in this trailer but we know they would if it was directed by JJ.

I just don't see how that could be Grand Moff Tarkin in the trailer. The ages just wouldn't add up. If you recall at the end of Revenge of the Sith, Grand Moff walks away from the Emperor on the bridge as Vader approaches. Even then that CGI of Tarkin appears just as he was in A New Hope.
