Harlan Williams killed it. Couldn’t imagine having to kill that much time on the way to Mars.

I would have enjoyed it and it's meaning more without the gay scenes but then again that was his life.
Elton and Bernie were a musical tandem surpassed by nobody.

In all my years I never knew Elton John garnered "John" from John Lennon. Pretty cool

He didn’t. The movie made that up.

There are 3 stories about how he came up with John....

1. John was another number of his band whose name he liked

2. There was another musician he greatly respected whose name was John (I don’t remember who specifically but it was someone I’ve never heard of)

3. I’m pretty sure I saw in an interview he said he just made it up with no connection to anything

It was an amalgamation of these two. He was the same guy, Long John Baldry who was a guitarist EJ had performed with.

On another note, while Taron Egerton was great in the title role (and will likely generate a lot of Oscar buzz), I thought Jamie Bell also gave an Oscar-worthy performance as Bernie Taupin.

the Bernie/Elton scenes were fantastic. Egerton played a very convincing gay dude. The King of Da Norf played his role as the alpha in a gay relationship very well.

I loved the movie. I thought it ended kinda suddenly but I guess they told the story that they wanted to tell.

I'd like to see Egerton sing perform an entire set of EJ songs.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who caught that

I thought it was fantastic, though I'm surprised it's getting better ratings than Bohemian Rhapsody. I enjoyed BR more
