the old witch lady still creeps me out, but I was legit terrified of her when I was a kid.

Morgan Freeman was a great supporting actor in that movie

Costner as Robin Hood and Slater as Will Scarlet was just horrible miscasting. Costner was a huge star at this point, but having him play a British role is laughable.
His accent was terrible, and he kept switching back and forth between a weak attempt at a British accent and his normal dialect. Slater's wasn't much better.
Costner's accent was probably the GOAT terrible movie accent, on par with the girl in the most recent Jason Bourne movie.

Unlike some other Robin Hood's, I can speak with an English accent
Damn your eyes, you magnificent bastard. I came here to post this.
Costner's "attempt" at a British accent definitely belongs in the Bad Accent Hall of Fame alongside Dick Van Dyke's cockney from Mary Poppins and any time any character in any movie has ever tried to do a Southern accent at any point ever.

I think I may have seen this movie 100 times, but I don't remember Costner even trying a British accent in even one scene. What scenes am I not thinking of?

I never regard that the accent matters that much. Doth we very crave a film in olde english? we are Americans, we compose the good movies, and we speak the meetest english dialect. Avaunt the haters

The new Robin Hood movie coming out soon will have some of this as well. Eve Hewson, who plays Maid Marian, is Irish, but said in an interview that her Marian will speak with an American accent.

Coster is clearly the weakest part of the movie and that just is what it is. Rickman more than makes up for Costner's issues
Alan Rickman was the best part of the movie. Morgan Freeman was fine as a character that actually could've been left out, and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio was gorgeous but under used in her role as Maid Marian.
The new RH movie just looks like a train wreck. They took some of the elements of RHPOT (Robin has a Moorish buddy), some elements of A Knight's Tale (modern costumes, American accents, and a pop music soundrack), and they changed the Robin/Marian dynamic by making her Will Scarlett's wife. I'm assuming that he dies, otherwise Marian is an adultress, and she can't be a "maid" if she's a married woman.
