Reminder that Coco is top-tier Pixar

Watched this yesterday with my son. Such an incredibly well-made movie. The story is tight and fantastic, and the twist is really well done. It’s an absolutely gorgeous movie too, with all the colors and whatnot.
And ultimately in the end, it’s just incredibly sweet. Coco reminds me of my grandmother, who just made 100 this past year. At the end when he sings the song to Coco and she lights up…
My only nitpick is why wouldn’t Hector have told Victoria in the afterlife that he was trying to come home when he died? Although maybe he tried to and she wasn’t having it because he left so often. Also, Miguel’s grandmother is such a bitch with the whole music thing. Like she’s just mean.

It was nice, but it felt like a paid for Mexico tourism ad at times. I wouldn't put it near the top of Pixar at all.

Blah. Coco is mid-tier Pixar at best.

Toy Story 1 & 3, Coco, Wall-e, the Incredibles and Up.
Consider the garbage since 2015. Most focus on DEI, even Coco, which was the only bright spot.
The Good Dinosaur
Finding Dori
Cars 3
Coco
Incredibles 2
Toy Story 4
Onward
Soul
Luca
Turning Red
Lightyear
Elemental

You know the Land of the Dead isn’t a real place, right?

Fantastic movie. People who don’t like it are nitpicking looking for a reason not to.

One of the best Pixar movies. Wonderful art, compelling story.

You are apparently a painfully literal fellow.

Coco is the best since Pixar’s incredible run in the 2000s up to Toy Story 3.
Of the others I’ve seen, Incredibles 2 and Soul were great and Onward was good too.

Still the best Fantastic Four movie ever made.

But...there were Mexicans in it, we cant have that

Love this one. I watch it every Halloween.
And, yes, grandma is a total b about music, but that kind of blind faith to family tradition is very Mexican.

Couldn’t disagree more. After the better Toy Story offerings it was my favorite.

I agree completely. It’s a masterpiece IMO.
