I haven't read the thread, but Saul has to still have some grand scheme in play, with all the money he's been storing up. So what is he planning on doing with it?
Why were the cops sitting behind Jeff's taxi like that? Were they tipped off by an anonymous call from Saul? Were Jeff's actions also part of some scheme? It seemed bizarre that he would crash like that - almost intentional.

I think they were just on patrol and had picked up food and stopped to eat. Just random.
The crash was definitely the plan based on the phone call afterwards.

I would assume a vaccuming, either that or ditching town and startign anew somewhere else

pure happenstance, IMO. The taxi wasn't registered in their brains at all, they were simply taking a break on a boring night shift and pulled over to the curb somehwere so they could eat dinner. Nothing more to it than that

I forgot about them eating the tacos. That makes sense.

I was a little confused here.
On one hand their phone call definitely seemed planned out. The fact that jeff called gene "dad", and gene giving him legal advice in a roundabout way, etc. Definitely something that did not seem off the cuff. But on the flip side...why in the world would their plan be to wreck a car in front of police and go to jail? There are dozens of other ways that situation could have gone down that would have bene prefereable. Also police randomly taking a break to eat wasn't in their pre-planning i dont' think so when would this plan ahve been formulated?

Seriously, frick that guy. We've had to deal with his BS in every episode thread & then he goes MIA after E12.

I think the crash was just the plan if a distraction was needed to get Gene/Saul/Jimmy out of the house

Skylar, Walt Jr., Holly, and Marie survived BB .

That had to be improvised. Saul would've seen the cops/crash on his way out and put it together.

Does anyone think that Carol Burnet finding out about Saul was no accident? Saul's reaction to her finding out seemed like one big act, much like how he'd talk to the sandpiper residents.

No
That's just way too contrived.
You're grasping.
Saul is going to be a victim of his own hubris. You see it start to happen with Nippy, then escalate when Saul breaks in to the cancer guys house.
This is a tale of the rise and fall of Slippin' Jimmy/Saul Goodman.
The End.

quote:No. They had a contingency protocol in case Jeffy was arrested in any of their burglaries. That is why (after seeing the police go after Jeffy) Saul went home to wait by the phone.
The crash was definitely the plan based on the phone call afterwards.
Saul was smart enough to tell his underlings to call a burner number if they are caught, and to refer to him as dad in case anyone at the police station is listening in.

what would be his motivation?

Here’s why it’s puzzling. Kim is not in hiding and is using her real name. But it seems like her new mundane life only works if her former life is completely unknown. “I grew up in Nebraska, lived and worked in ABQ,” etc.
No one alive other than Saul knew she was ever involved in any of this stuff, so she doesn’t need to disappear she just needed to move away. She moved before Saul started any of his real nefarious stuff in the BB series.

I think that was Jeffy causing a distraction so Saul could leave. What he didn’t expect, and the reason why he was jailed, is the guy who they drugged woke up and said held gotten robbed.
Jeffy leaving the scene in a hurry and wrecking plus this is why they arrested him on suspicion of burglary.

Jimmy is just burning out and getting reckless. That's the explanation they gave in Talking Saul.
When he slipped into his Saul lawyer persona, talking about how the bond process was different in New Mexico (where her son Jeffy got in trouble), her suspicions were sufficiently raised.

Man, after wanting some Gene episodes so badly for so long, I find myself bored out of my mind with them. I get why we are getting them. And I do actually enjoy them for the most part. They just feel so weird and out of place, and while I do agree with whoever it was that said this is basically sort of an epilogue for BCS it just makes the entire show feel like it's come to a screeching halt and is now just idling down the road until it dies.
IMO part of the reason Kim turned herself in was because her Florida life was killing her inside. There is zero chance that Kim Wexler enjoyed her life there. She was going through the motions and nothing more. And once Jimmy told her that everyone "important" was dead and gone, she finally decided to do the "right" thing. And that was partly to lift the weight off her shoulders, but also partly to get out of her boring arse Florida life.
I also agree with whoever said it earlier, that while these episodes aren't bad per se, it just feels like they could have been condensed and gotten the point across just as well. But I guess then we don't get all of VG's artsy shots that he loves to cram in whenever possible.
All that being said, I absolutely can't wait for next week. I still have high hopes and solid confidence that VG/PG know what they are doing, and we will get a satisfying ending (whatever that may end up being).
And it was funny that this episode seemed to completely destroy any credibility Ham's theories had left. Which means he will now pivot to something different and make it fit so that he can still claim partial victory. So we have that to look forward to I guess. Yay.

Yep.
If you have ever known a habitual liar, you'll see that eventually, the house of cards they work tirelessly to maintain, finally falls.
It may take months, or even years, but that many layers of lies cannot be maintained forever.
Jimmy has gotten away with SO many lies and scams that he's gotten clumsy, overconfident, and careless. His arrogance shows through when explaining to Mom how Jeffy isn't in any real trouble due to the laws of Nebraska. Yo see the suspicion enter her mind.
And his arrogance blinds him to what he just let slip.
