Saw that coming before the season started. No surprise .... even though this was one of the better seasons.

Kept hearing all the players were ready to move on.

ETA: Dayum, I just learned something. Penny Dreadful is returning as Season of Angels.

The most recent two seasons were pretty good. Not a bad way to go out.

At least there is no danger of Conner returning. He’s probably hanging out somewhere with AJ Soprano, annoying the shite out of people.

I hate when they don't let a great show finish the right way.

So should I pick up after the wife dies (if I'm into dark)?

I'm a few episodes into S2 right now and I just can't get into it. The wife is insufferable imo.

Had so much potential. The early episodes where Ray was doing his fixer job were some of my all-time tv favorites. Jon Voight was awesome.

Like others said, they decided on this crazy dark/depressing path. I think I gave up a few episodes into season 4. Haven’t watched since.

I mean would it have killed them to add 1 more episode to finish it or extend the last ep 20 - 30 minutes? I was looking forward to Micky getting what he deserved. It was close to resolution as it was, so why not finish the fricking thing.

I like to believe that after they whacked Tony that AJ went home and jumped in the pool again and Carmella was too weak to pull him out so he died also.

Sad, this last season was really good I thought and it looked like it was going to get back on track for at least one more season.

I've seen every episode and would have watched season 8. That being said, the show had run its course IMO.

I agree. The number of eye rolling moments was increasing with each subsequent season.

I agree. Ray got closure with his sister's suicide, but we sure didn't. Terri wanting kill himself and Micki on the run. I wish they could film one more episode to end this great series the right way.

Don't worry .... there will be a movie ala Deadwood. It's the in thing to do.

At minimum they needed to do a 1-2 hour finale. Hopefully they get a lot of feedback and people cancelling their SHO subscription and do the right thing. The show had run its course for sure, but close it out proper.

Lets not put this in the same category of Deadwood. Ray Donovan had it's chance and blew it with an unwatchable fourth season.

I loved that show, the last episode was an awful ending.
