Toss between 3/4. I thought 2 was the weakest. Not a fan of the whole boat docks thing.

1. 4
2. 3
3. 1
4. 2
5. 5

It feels weird ranking seasons 2 and 5 at the bottom of any list because they are still beyond great

Another question. Do the producers of the Office really like the Wire a lot, or is it just coincidence that they've used 2 Wire characters in the office (Charles, Holly)?

I think they do bc Dwight has made a reference to the wire before.

I need someone to explain to me why this is the greatest show ever. I have watched the first 2 and half seasons and grew frustrated with it. The one thing that draws me to it is how real and true to life the show is, but I just find myself caring about McNulty and really no one else. I also get lost with all of the police department politics

Although once you've seen them all, I love going back and watching 1 again.

2 is the most uncanny of all the seasons and this is what makes Simon such a brilliant writer and producer. There are two main storylines going at once - almost connecting perfectly, but not quite. 2 gives you more to keep up with from Sbotka and Nick and Ziggy to the eastsiders and the intro of Cheese and a more rounded Prop Joe character (they made Joe too "hard" in the first season and then they made him perfect) to the Avon/Stringer stuff and then, of course, the intro to the Greeks, Double G, and Sergei. I truly believe season 2 is one that, after you watch it a second time, you really appreciate it. One of my favorite moments of 2 was when String was in the car with that cat from D.C. ***********SPOILER**************************************************************************and he was paying him to get the guy's cousin to make a move on D'ANgelo inside Jessup. The guy asks String if Avon actually knew. String tells him with a nod, but then says, "You're right...it ain't none of your business...and if I was you, I wouldn't ant a word of this close to Avon's ear." The dude gets out of String's ride, shaking his head, and says, "Baltimore Ni ggaz off the hook. All y'all."

Three is terrific and has my favorite all time scene when Avon and Stringer speak on the rooftop. Three is the pinnacle, ven though 4 tops it as far as storyline. 3 teases you, but gives you more than you baragin for, at the same time. Season 3 is where the corners are back in the picture. I love the very beginning of the the first episode when Royce and co. are demolishing the towers. The dust that heavily settles down on everyone foreshadows the shite that is about to hit the fan due to "destroying the towers and making way for new and affordable housing...a new Baltimore."

5 is the worst one, but it's still damn good. McNulty at his best...Clark Johnson is freaking phenomenal as Gus. Clarke Peters plays his best Freamon yet, too.

I miss the frickity frick out of this show. Brilliant. Nothing will ever beat it.

the king of the gangsters on The Wire.I know it's a fictional show, but Marlo was a punk compared to Avon.

In my own head, Avon loaned Slim Charles the $$$ to get the Greek connect, therefore the old saying "The king stay the king."
