I know he was. I just find it interesting that he would also put half-bloods above pure-bloods when his rhetoric would say otherwise.

Hitler was a half-Jew...
Voldemort was just using the pure blood stuff to gain power, there is no doubt he had respect for plenty of half blood wizards.

Has that been confirmed? Regardless, he was Austrian, not German, and he didn't have blonde hair.

I think it really had more to do with hating mudbloods than anything else.

It did. Voldemort was all about keeping magic from mudbloods and exterminating muggles and muggle-borns alike.

No doubt, I actually typed that and then took it out for some reason.
And as far as the Hitler thing, no its just a common theory just wanted to throw it in there

Well I don't think he wanted to exterminate all muggles. Just the ones who would resist being ruled over by wizards

To be fair, I don't think there was ever much of a reason to believe any of Harry's classmates had the abilities that he had. Even Hermione just knew more spells because she studied a lot.

He hung on the pure blood thing because he resented his muggle father for deserting his mother. That's why he ditched Riddle.

Meh... That's kind of like saying Einstein was so smart because he studied a lot. Yea studying gave her a leg up but she was also very smart and talented

Now we are getting into things that were directly stated in the books

I'm not disagreeing, but I never saw any reason to think she had more natural abilities than Harry himself.

One more thing for those who seem to know a lot more about the series than I do. Did it specifically say that Harry lost the abilities he got from Voldemort after Voldemort destroyed the horcrux inside him? Can he still talk to snakes after that?

And since we're on the subject, is it true that the snake at the zoo was Nagini? That just seems weird.

No. He lost the ability to speak to snakes with the death of the horcrux that resided inside of him.

What kind of abilities do you mean? Speaking Parseltongue? It never said but I assume he can still do it. All the other similarities between them had a lot to do with Harry growing up with part of Voldemort inside him, so I doubt he'd lose any of it.

But no it never specifically said

Voldemort destroyed the part of his soul that had latched on to Harry. Harry's soul was his own. It never showed he lost it, but it would be safe to assume the gift was gone.

That's the thing I was specifically referring to. I just couldn't remember if there were some other things.

The psychic connection he had with Voldemort would have been gone too.

I dk if I agree with this. This would mean that it was Voldemorts soul speaking Parseltongue and not Harry, and I don't think that was the case. I think the reason that HE could speak Parseltongue was because Voldemorts soul inside him rubbed off on his own soul. Thats the way I believe it anyway

But shite if Ron can just randomly do it than how hard can it be anyway

He did'nt randomly do it. He had to repeat what he heard Harry say over and over before it worked.

And Dumbledore told Harry specifically that was the reason he could speak to snakes.
