One thing to note: it’s reprehensible the cops let the kid go back in the apartment. But, what did they really know at that time?

It's a tough spot for sure with the cops. They could have done a little more thorough check on the kids wellbeing though. They could have followed up the next day to make sure everything was ok. Honestly, someone outside THAT "drunk" and nearly completely naked, they could have brought him to the hospital.

You're leaving out the part where the boy escapes and is brought back in by the police.

That's the part they misrepesented. I agree it needs to be included but it needs to be accurate and not strung out and embellished to create some BLM arc.

It's like turning a Ted Bundy biopic into a #metoo movement chapter.

Cool, but those two cops still screwed that kid. They should have never been reinstated.

My wife is watching this and I was in the room during one of the first 2 episodes.

Dahmer repeatedly told the cops "There is a lot of gay stuff in there" as a hopeful deterrent from their search.

I have to know how true the close calls with the cops are. He was in possession of a dead body every time the cops were present! I'm only to the part where he gets kicked out of the bathhouse for being too weird.

That right there is an accomplishment but so far the cops are batting .333 finding the dead guy. That gets you into the HoF in baseball but I'd like law enforcement to get up above .500 in detecting corpses in the same room or vehicle.

Whoever downvoted me, explain why. And I'd like to see your thoughts had it been your own child.

The police even told the fire department to leave. They should have sent him straight to the hospital. No more questions. He was bleeding and naked. He was 14 and the women thought he looked 12, so I'm not sure how they would buy the idea he was 19 years old. On the stand the officers stated Dahmer said he was 20. Especially without valid identification to backup his claims.

The reports from the call stated, "man down and badly beaten."

Also, the officers admitted they did detect an odor in the apartment they returned him to. They claimed, because he was so cooperative they never suspected anything. If he was so nice then they should have all been cool with sending him to the hospital.

The bootlickers get so defensive and insecure when any tv show paints our brave boys in blue in a negative light

Spoilers!!

Did anyone else get way more entertained with the character that played Gacy at the end? Whoever that was that played him was terrifying. Hopefully we get a similar series with him!
