Question for GOT book readers (spoiler)....

It's been a while sense I have read the final book, so I might be forgetting some vital information.
Do you think John Snow is actually dead? I read someone where that Snow will come back as the hero that was foretold to return to Westeros.

Where it goes from there, I have no idea.

I think his body may be dead and he'll warg into Ghost. Whether he can warg from Ghost into someone else or Melisandre can resurrect him is a whole other deal.

No. Jon Snow may be temporarily dead, but his arc indicates that he's not dead. If he is dead for good, then its bad writing and his arc has been a waste of time. It's called "A Song of Ice and Fire" for a reason.

I'm almost 100% positive no character has died in their own chapter (aside from the intro chapters). The wall is a magical place, and he is supposedly the one born from fire and ice. So, my money is that he is still alive.

Jon Snow is obviously Azor Ahai reborn. To be reborn he has to first die then reborn amongst salt and smoke. He ain't dead

Anything on the theory that "The Song of Ice and Fire" refers to Jon Snow and Daenerys getting together or something in the end?

Go ask in the GOT super theory thread. They could probably hook you up with all kinds of info.

That may very well happen, but I think the title has more to do with Rhaegar and Lyanna.

Not to mention Quentyn, who certainly died.

Yeah. That's very true. I hadn't thought it that way but it makes sense. I also read somewhere that the only way to leave the commitment to the wall is by death. By Jon dying, he is released from hi commitment to the Wall.

This is somewhat off the subject, but I was checking GRRM's blog the other day and he posts something pretty much every day, plus he was talking about opening a bar???
GET OFF THE INTERNET, OUT OF THE BAR BUSINESS, AND FINISH THE WINDS OF WINTER AND A DREAM OF SPRING, GEORGE! YOU ARE 65 YEARS OLD!

Exactly. Lol. The producers of the tv who went to him to find out how the story will end. They already know George isn't going to have books finished before the tv series surpasses book 6.

I think it more likely refers to Jon Snow being the son of Rhaegar and Lyanna and him being the prince that was promised/azor ahai than Jon and Danny getting together

If Jon is dead-dead, then I think either Mel or Val will resurrect him. If not, I think he's in a coma and is severely injured, but will heal from it. There's no way that he's dead; as OMLandshark said, it would be bad writing if he went out like that before all the shite hits the fan. Jon is the main character basically--go check out the 654 page thread on here.

I'm leaning more towards this than Jon getting the Dondarrion/Stoneheart treatment. I'm hoping for it at least.

Actually dead? not sure. He could just be knocked out like Arya was at The Twins in ASOS or Tyrion at the Bridge of Souls in ADWD. He also could be in a situation where his body is dead, but his soul is warged inside Ghost much like Varemir 6 Skins with his eagle in ASOS. However, one thing is 100% clear to me, he is not dead and gone forever. As I see it, there are several possibilities:
A. He's not dead.
He was just knocked unconscious and will wake up in a cell (possibly an ice cell) injured and in chains awaiting trial by a coup of brothers of the nights watch.
B. Oh he's dead, but he's coming back to be the hero.
His soul is inside of Ghost and will remain in there until he's revived by Melisendre or some weird Children of the Forest/Old Gods magic to save the day.
C. Oh, he's dead, but he's about to wreck shite.
He's dead temporarily, but he will be revived by the others and become the Great Other, leading the White Walkers against the armies of man, killing everyone in his path, like a boss.
D. The Dog Days of Winter.
He's dead and inside ghost, but his body's not coming back so he joins up with Nymeria's wolf pack and starts chomping down on some Freys, Boltons, and Lannisters. Eventually, he meets up with Arya and crazy awesome stuff happens when this f'd up tween assassin with some major grudges against the regime backed by an army of hundreds (possibly thousands) of hungry wolves and 2 giant direwolves could get pretty interesting.
I'd give 60% chance of B, 25% chance of A, 10% chance of C, 5% chance of D.
