Started watching this from the board's recommendation.
I'm not into anime, but I was curious so I started watching. I just finished Season 2.
Spoilers below:
Why the frick don't the humans throw Levi out there more often? Dude is a fricking killing machine and he hardly ever fights in the battles.

Levi's leg was still fricked up when Reiner and Bert revealed themselves and kidnapped Eren.

The canon answer is that the humans have a long term plan and slaughtering every titan isn't the actual goal.
The actual answer is that it reserves Levi for moments of awesomeness so fans appreciate how amazing he is.

Levi got hurt in his initial fight with Annie and is hurt for the duration of S2. S2 only took place a few days after S1 and his ankle is still F’d
You get plenty of Levi being the embodiment of awesome as the series progresses

If you think Levi is a great vs titans, wait until you see Levi vs Kenny in season 3.

plenty of badass parts to come. He's so OP that they have to take him out with things like the broken ankle

They went all out with that animation. Some of the best in the entire series

Nerfing or removing OP characters for plot advancement is anime 101.

I’d edit that if I were you
Let OP be awed, I think we’ve given him enough teasers

I love how in the flash forward Zeke still has Ackermann PTSD.
