I was coming to say this. And I don't want to choose.

I will say while QT leaned more into over-the-top action, and the Cohens more into psychological drama, both have provided us with a treasure trove of brilliantly developed & memorable characters.

Coen Brothers and it isn't even close.

It would suck to lost NCFOM, but that’s the only one of the Coen Bro’s that I rewatch regularly. Not to take away from a lot of greatness on that list, they’re just not on my desert island list.

I watch PF, IB, KB 1&2, DU, and OUATIH all with regularity.

The Coen Brothers all day man and the question is absurd in my strong opinion. I mean no disrespect to any poster that chooses Tarantino but that dude isn’t even a pimple on the arse of the Coen Brothers. Having said that they both are responsible for two of my favorite movies.

Tarantino - “True Romance”
Coen Brothers - “The Big Lebowski”

But if one of them has to go I’ll keep the Coen Brothers and no bat an eye.

Both directors have unique, quirky styles that are immediately recognizable, follow a consistent set of tropes, and are absolutely feverishly masterbated to by certain cadres of film buffs.

I think they’re both overrated as shitt.

Coens have a lot of range. (Blood Simple, Raising Arizona, Hudsucker Proxy, Fargo, Barton Fink, Inside Llewyn Davis) - I mean how are those films the same set of tropes?

I think you're describing Wes Anderson.

You’re right, I was thinking of Wes Anderson.

Definitely taking Coen Brothers over Tarantino.

I will fight you for dishonoring Wes Anderson’s good name.

Coen's, easy choice. QT had a series of weak movies (Deathproof, Inglorious Basterds, Django Unchained, Hateful 8).

Coen Brothers for me. As Freauxzen said, more variety.

Tarantino is like Italian food. I have to be in the mood for anything with that much tomato sauce.

I'm really going to miss Pulp Fiction and Inglorious Bastards, but give me the Coen Brothers.

Coen brothers. Tarantino's recent movies haven't been my personal favorites and I think the Coen brothers' best work is better than QT's best work.
