Before this movie, I would have said he's Thanos level threat and I'd still say he's probably the second strongest the Avengers have faced but the last act made it seem like he's not quite on that level yet and maybe they are setting up for Doom to take over in Secret Wars. I always assumed Kang was going to be the big bad for both
If they do Kang correctly, we will have multiple Kangs, each more devastatingly brutal than the last.

I'm curious how it will end though. When there can always be another variant, how do you finally, ultimately, defeat "the" Kang? How do you film that?
Its why this is less powerful than Thanos to me. You knew the one, true Thanos. It feels like the nature of Kang is always ripe for a cop out - "the REALLY bad variant didn't die, though!"

Reed Richards gets a vasectomy.

True. I think the only real way to defeat "all" Kangs is for the most powerful one to defeat the rest. Similar to what was going on in Loki.

I went into the movie hoping Marvel was going to turn it around for me but I was pretty letdown, unfortunately:
- I seem to have the same issues with Cassie's motivations as others in this thread, so I'll keep this one short. Better writing could've turned this into a good story, like using the angle of trying to get back lost time that Scott missed with his daughter during jail and then the blip. Instead, we get Cassie, who is angry at her dad for not doing anything outside of writing a book after he helped save the entire universe. I know it's a comic book movie and you can't take these things seriously but that is such a joke it was hard to look past.
- This brings me to my next point. Scott, in his own movie, is once again taking a backseat because Janet won't give a single detail about her stay in a place for decades and then Cassie reads some notes in between stops in jail and figured out how to access the quantum realm. I guess it's just that easy to do now. Just incredibly lazy overall. Then when they're in the quantum realm the pacing and editing was all over the place, it was hard to really feel any momentum happening. Some nice ideas and a couple of entertaining new characters but to spend almost the entire movie in this setting, felt like they should have presented more.
- Kang wasn't a bad villain but if they're really banking on him to be the villain over the next phase or two, I'm not sure how successful they're going to be. I understand the Council of Kang and the real danger is his ability to come from various universes but I can't take a villain too seriously that gets defeated by Paul Rudd and some ants. I never personally felt like he was a large threat, they didn't quite hit the scale they were hoping to hit based on how they marketed the character.
- Outside of the GotG movie coming up, not a whole lot I'm looking forward to, I'll oddly throw in Loki because that's been my favorite D+ series even though I just complained about Kang. I'll go ahead and predict Marvel has their first actual flop within two years. Idk anyone fired up for The Marvels, which has been delayed five or six times now and I don't remember too many people liking Captain Marvel anyways. Then you follow that up with a new Captain America and we don't really know if people will show up to a new Cap and then the Thunderbolts, which doesn't move the needle.
I hope Gunn can get DC turned around soon.

I hope we have like a quick 40 min special on him. Always been fascinated by him in the comics.
Feel like loki season 2 will deal with him more. Never know though, Kang may get his own standalone film
"Kang will return"

dammit, you beat me to it.
In all these posts, did anyone bring up how ridiculous it was that Cassie Lang, totally unrelated to Hank Pym or his genius wife, was able to science up some Quantum thingmajig?
She's a TEENAGE GIRL, and Scott's daughter! She's not freaking Shuri or Riri Williams. How the hell does she know how to do anything related to the Pym particle or Quantum related stuff?
More than Hank, Janet van Dyne, or their daughter, Hope?
DV?
What did I say to trigger you now?

People aren't realizing i guess..he was all but stripped of his shite and did everything he did with just his suit which only gave him barely anything.
He built that world with almost nothing, imagine what he can do when unleashed. This one was cast out for a reason, and is now one with his flux capacitor

Just saw it, and I enjoyed it. There is no way that Kang from the QR is dead, I think he is some type of reality where he meets other possibilities of himself, like antman when trying to fix the core. I know there are other kangs, but not other Kang the conqueror.

Saw it last night, definitely not as bad as the critics said it was. Bit of a darker tone for Scott Lang. It seemed like the beginning of the movie was on fast forward in order to get to the Quantum Realm. Probably missed a bit of character development for Cassie there. Jonathan Majors was the star of the show. Every scene with him in it was amazing to watch. I don't think this version of Kang will be gone for long. I want to see the Conqueror go up against the other ones.

I've just got around to finally watching this movie. But I've got to say, I really enjoyed it. Of the post endgame era, this would be my top movie after No Way Home.
I'm excited to see Kangs character, oe should I say characters fleshed out more. Jonathan Majors absolutely killed it in this role.

To be fair, it wasn't just some ants. It was thousands of gigantic, genius, technologically advanced ants. And those ants didn't even actually kill him. He was still formidable enough to escape.
Also, Kang is a normal human. It's his suit/tech that makes him tough. If you can get him without his tech, then he's a normal human.

I streamed it tonight…I just realized half way through I did not give a frick about anything that was going on.
I get comic people may be excited about what’s to come with Kang but man it just didn’t hit for me.
MCU is kind of dead to me, this entire phase just failed to motivate me to be intrigued about much going forward. I’ll catch GOTG3 at some point but idk if I’m sticking with it past that.

I'm a comic nerd and all I really remember about Kang was that he got obliterated by Dr. Doom multiple times in some really embarrassing ways. Not exactly an inspiring villain and felt that in this movie which was overall a big joke.
GOTG3 is a nice PostScript.

I don't necessarily care about Kang, but I'm not going to say he's a dud when Quantamania itself was such a dud.
Watched this last night. I think William Jackson Harper butting in to say "Seven Holes" was the only moment of the entire movie I found entertaining. A probability storm should be cool. Intelligent ants should be cool. A quantum dimension's inhabitant's should be interesting. Execution totally fails.

I too watched it recently. I was not impressed. Something was missing, felt rushed, and the final battle should've been epic. It was not. Not a memorable movie at all. Why are they trying to turn all these movies into comedies?

The new chick that played Jentorra, I've never really seen her before, well, she was really hot.

She’s the dike off mandalorian
