DVD release is Tuesday. Commercial touting how questions will be answered.

You know your movie sucks when that's your selling point for home release.

I still hate that "scream" noise they keep pumping every 5 seconds in the commercial.

Just saw that. Now I hope it's even shittier so as to not encourage other studios to do this.

I'm confused by the commercials. Are they saying the movie answers questions from the previous Alien movies, OR

That the DVD release will answer questions that should have been in the fricking movie int he first place?

Isn't that the siren they used in the original Alien trailer?

Movie was so disappointing. I hope someone buys the DVD and tells me they "fixed" it to make some damn sense.

Man, this movie is so polarizing. I liked it alot. I kind of liked it with the questions; not sure I want "the answers."

related: they probably won't answer much anyways because they are trying for a sequel, I believe. However, I have heard there is more dialogue in the last engineer scene.

I don't want to be spoon fed either, but as Lacour will probably agree, this was shitty "LOST" writing at its finest.

Its one thing to make things mysterious and for the audience to figure out, but totally another when you raise 15 more questions and give the audience almost nothing to work from, all the while breaking basic logic. The movie has a few jumps from A to C without any B to help us figure out why C happened, etc.

The huge thread on this movie I think covered most of that so I won't rehash it.

I think I saw the extended Engineer scene, it was moderately helpful. He ends up talking a bit more, and gets pissed at what he hears, but what set him off or was he already "set off" etc is still up in the air somewhat.

I hated this movie the first time I saw it. I sucked it up and saw it again and I liked it A LOT better. Same thing happened to me with TDKR. I think it's just an issue of sky high expectations.

I'll try to look through that thread. I've heard mostly gripes about motives [why are they doing x] and gripes about stupidity [who the frick would do x]. Stupidity, I guess I could just deal with it because it is a movie. But the motives gripe, I just don't get it. The movie answered some xenomorph questions and raised new ones about the xenomorphs origin and humankind's origin. However, I thought the motives for all of the characters was pretty self-explanatory.

I actually loved the movie. I thought it was awesome, but could have answered more questions and still done a sequel.

Their motivation is unclear.

Yes. One of the most iconic movie trailers of all time.

Yes, and to be bludgeoned to death with that siren is a privilege I say!
