Prometheus - potential explanations of black goo

As a spinoff to the recent long thread, this article may provide some answers regarding the black Goo that has led to so many questions in the wake of the movie. This below graphic is apparently included in the BluRay extras:

To me the graphic explains a few things regarding the movie. Dr. Holloway ingested the goo via David dropping in into his highball. This began the eventual deconstruction of his DNA (and ultimate death) as described in the right hand column of the graphic. This also happened to the engineer at the beginning of the movie when it pollinated a given planet. It also explains why Dr. Holloway had the same reaction, albeit more slowly with the smaller amount, because we are 100% DNA-matched with the engineers.
Contrarily, the geologist who had his face melted in the weapons chamber assumedly experienced "inhalation" which eventually resulted in "Instinctual Aggression" described in the first column. This finally explains why he turned into some type of zombie later in the movie. It was because he inhaled rather than ingested the goo, which produces different results per the graphic.
The graphic also confirms that the goo was indeed a bioweapon used by the engineers to eradicate planets, which many suspected and the movie actually did a decent job of explaining.
Lastly, the bottom of the graphic depicts the storage modules and states that they are stable so long as stored in a controlled environment. My take is when the Prometheus crew first entered the storage chamber it altered the stabilized environment and set off the canisters causing them to leak the goo...this could be an explanation against the theory that the humans themselves (and their intrinsic motivations) merely being in the room caused the canisters to leak. Which seems a bit much for the audience to grasp. The data on the storage modules in the graphic reveals, however, that it's only "34% complete" so all info isn't yet known.
One thing I'm still unsure of is why Dr. Hollway's goo-infused jism caused Shaw to produce a squid-like facehugger. Shaw was supposedly barren, so the super goo-jizz clearly altered her DNA or at least the DNA of her womb into producing something, but why did it produce a facehugger? I suppose that's something that remains to be seen or explained.

There was a large release of gasses when the doors opened showing a "contained environment" i guess. But why was the Engineer running toward the room where the door crushed his skull?

Movie was still disappointing regardless of goo explanation.

I apologize, I didn't have the opportunity to hate on this movie enough the first go around.
Just saw it for the first time last week.

I have never seen a movie try to be explained more than Prometheus...........ever

The top was still spinning.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I suspect it was because I wasn't involved in the pre-released hype, and simply saw it was being made, said "I want to see it" and left it at that.

the effects timelines are interesting, as is the spacing/ambient environment data

I felt the same. At least it provides some insight into why certain things happened the way they did in the movie (i.e., why the fock the geologist turns into some sort of zombie while Dr. Holloway experiences a different reaction).

Yeah, that makes complete sense that once the environment changed in the storage room, the goo starts to react.
