Just got back from seeing it. Absolutely loved it. I’ll go see it a second time in the theatre, which I haven’t done since dune 2.

Finally was able to see it.

We took the whole family (7 and 13 year old daughters).

Everyone loved it. The 7 year old had lots of questions and needed some things explained, but she loved Rocky and had to climb in my lap when she thought Rocky died.

The 13 year old, who read the book, wished they went more into the science, but she enjoyed it and called it her favorite movie experience.

Great movie and experience. Need more movies like this.

PSA: There are only 2 more days to see this in IMAX before they lose it to the Mario movie on 4/1. Don’t miss out on watching (or rewatching) it on the biggest screen you can.

Will cross $600M too

This is big. Means the film will make a profit and it still has legs for another 3-4 weeks at the box office. Losing Imax screens hurts though.

If it crosses a billion (who knows) it will hopefully set a trend of hopeful, uplifting blockbuster type films based on hit books with practical effects.

Still can't get over how much the film and that damn rock puppet resonated. Stories based on friendship and humanity and hope connect with audiences... Who knew?

No chance of that happening, but 650-700 is an incredible achievement

Don’t tell that to the upstanding teenagers who talked the entire movie who sat near me. As we left the theater, I heard one just kept saying “that shite is arse, that movie was so arse.”

And you just sat there and let them

What the frick did you even respond to? I haven't said anything about this movie since it's been released, because I haven't seen it yet.

A) why the hell not!? It’s very worthy of a movie viewing.

B) I think it’s a comment on saying “you limit what your SO can watch.”

After the first trailer, I told my wife not to watch the second one that had Rocky.

As a book reader, it wasn’t meant to control her, it was so she could be more delighted in the character when it showed up. She said she was glad she went in blind.

Same for my kid.

I wouldn’t call you a fig for your comment but you blew it out of proportion for what was meant by it.
