Maybe someone savvy with AI can finally give us some better DC content than James Gunn has

At best you'll get a non-DC version of the original Siegel and Shuster Superman, but I doubt that. Mickey Mouse was suppose to be in the public domain over forty years ago. Two years ago they had to give public access to the Steamboat Willie Mickey.

Technically Kong has been in the public domain since the 70s, which was reaffirmed in the 80s in the Universal v Nintendo case over Donkey Kong.

I didn’t know Tom’s last name was Cat and Jerry’s last name was Mouse.

Also fat chance WB or whoever and Disney just let their superheroes enter public domain.

How are those Hobbit/LOTR characters becoming public domain?

I hope talented privateers take these characters and run with them. I already know what big studio Hollywood will do with them.

Because it’s been 100 years since their release? Isn’t that how it goes.

I would bet a lot that Superman would be an inflection point and Congress will update the copywrite/public domain laws and extend them

Is it? I'm not familiar with copyright law, let alone internationally.

Hopefully they're better than the Twisted Childhood Universe movies.

Although I'm looking forward to the Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble movie
