Three days in a row of iconic celebrities dying is insane
Not sure I'd classify Peter Cullen as an iconic celebrity in the same way Dolly Parton was or even Tim Curry was.

I just read this. Dammit, this one hits every bit as hard as James Earl Jones.

One of the most iconic character voices, to be sure.

Same here. I still have my original G1 Optimus…. Albeit with a “detachable” arm
Prime and his iconic voice have been a part of my entire life.

I kind of hope he had some sort of arrangement with Hasbro to keep his voice alive via AI similar to what JEJ did with Lucasfilm for Darth Vader.

Yeah… although I was at first disappointed when he wasn’t in Transformers One… I thought Hemsworth did a decent job, especially by the time he was given the Matrix and fully a Prime. Not sure if he’ll be the voice if they make any future Transformers movies.

that voice and character are pretty ingrained in pop culture, so if you're an 80-90s kid, Optimus fricking prime is more iconic

Now we have to wrap Frank Welker in bubble wrap.

Frank and Peter are friends IRL which makes it imperative we get a few more years out of old Frank

One of my favorites, for sure.
Transformers was in my wheelhouse.
Cullen is up there with Blanc, Kasem, Phil Harris, and Louis Prima.
Other personal favorites are Christopher Collins (Starscream), John Ratzenberger, and Kristen Schaal.

RIP. Super iconic in a lot of voice roles.

Christopher Collins (Starscream)
He was another giant in the field. Many knew him as Chris Latta, and he was another GenX VO juggernaut.

Being a successful voice actor would be such a sweet gig. Don't have to get in front of cameras, 99.9% of the population doesn't recognize you on the street, show up to a studio in comfortable clothes and just talk into a mic and get paid.

If you were a child in the 80s his voice was the one that you looked forward to on Saturday Mornings.

He worked on thousands of animated projects, but most heard him after school in syndication for Transformers (not a Saturday morning cartoon).

I'm old; I thought I remembered it as a Saturday morning cartoon.
