the last jedi wasn't very good for reasons completely unrelated to Incel complaints. The story arc was pretty weak. There was no reveal around snoke - there should have been. The whole attempt to get Luke to come back was so overdone. The fight scene between luke and Kylo Ren was craptastic.
I don't think adam driver is a particularly compelling bad guy either.

And when did Star Wars fans start getting labeled as incels? Because that term doesn’t pertain to the typical 40-50 year old die hard Star Wars fan. That’s totally a millennial thing.

Completely agree with this, but those boycotting Solo. Not just not seeing it, but boycotting it over the fact they had a female lead, and the bad guy is a white dude. Incels.

The backlash among Star Wars fans for TLJ was huge. I get that most people maybe didn't follow it but Star Wars' record profits aren't due to casual fans/viewings. They are due to repeat viewings by the hardcores. This was the group alienated by Disney and TLJ.

The standalone movies have merit but were too frequent.
Giving the unproven writers and directors control over films is like giving kids with learners permits the keys to a Bugatti. It may end well but you probably have some severe damage or total it.

I guess it could be semantics, but I am going consider this trilogy his films.
Rian Johnson will indeed produce all three movies, and Bergman confirms again that it’s in the (very) early stages of development — where at the earliest, production for film numero uno would likely begin about two years from now.

Kylo Ren is easily the best thing this new trilogy has going for it. Which may not saying a lot, but it is the truth.
